Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Recommended Posts

I’m not arguing against emotion, but it’s not a great way to make long term and beneficial decisions.
What transpired last night has to be a rare thing in college basketball. You have to have the right combination of ingredients to have that ugly of a scene. A coach who should have been fired last season. You have to have a fanbase that care enough to still show up to the basketball game even though the team isn't grat. The worst half of basketball in 125 year history following a previous terrible game. A coach we could have had last season having a great first season. This isn't a normal situation the administration have put themselves in. The solution isn't easy. I think though when you look at the talent and watch the product on the court you would be wise to fire him today and move on imo

Have said nothing of the sort, though I have said there’s a process as to how this will get done, and people are angry about that reality.

The administration’s “process” is dog water and has led to decades of ineptitude. The solution is simple. These people just need to get out of the way and let Scott cook.

I find the "higher than [Kathy]" statement intriguing... tell us more...

I'm sorry  but not going to argue with Katchy about this but I got a text from someone higher than her last night that said some serious conversations are going on right now at the highest levels about ending this nightmare immediately.

Well it's definitely not Cuinn with a Q so maybe it's Kindy with a C? What say you Khris?

What benefit to the program would exist by firing him now? How would that improve the program in the near term, which is the only real impact it would have. Would we be more competitive? Win more games? Serve the interests of the players?

I would offer that convincing Mike Woodson to voluntarily step down would save what is left of Mike Woodson’s Indiana legacy.  It would save him from more boos and probably “we want Dusty” chants in a specific upcoming game.  Would it help anybody besides Mike Woodson?  That can be debated, but I don’t think it would hurt anyone, either.  The product on the floor is a waste of everyone’s time, including the players’.

What types of reactions do you envision? Are you embellishing or do you really believe IU fans will become violent? Should Woodson be concerned for his safety, and that of his family?
First there is a level of concern probably for every high major coach at least on some level. People are crazy and unpredictable imo. I have been a fan since I was 4 years old and I want woodson gone more than anyone or as much as anyone. Watching last night I was almost in tears because of how sad it was to see what's become of iu basketball. Who knows what crazy people might do if they also care. The crowd seemed restless and chanting and booing is not a safe environment for anyone. I mostly feel bad for people who have young kids or older folks having to be in that building hearing and seeing such devastation. The only path forward is removing the man who is unquestionably responsible. Quinwoodson

I agree, it would provide a visceral solution for some, but it wouldn’t impact the long term health of the program, which should be the objective.

Action matters. The administration sitting silently on their thumbs sends the message that they are content and accepting of the current state of the program. Silence is concurrence.

Not sure why this thread is so active… Kathy has made it pretty clear. We’re supposed to sit here stone faced until the end of the year and mindlessly say “go IU” the whole time… anything else is patently absurd and overly emotional. Lol
I just gotta get these guys... again I got 7 new players. There is a process per Kathy before we hire randy wittman next.

I really don't care if they let the night janitor take over. Just need to show possible candiates that we are serious and the job is open now.

Martha The Mop Lady it is!  Can she start today?

I think we all see the writing on the wall. Mike Woodson will not be the head coach next season, it’s all but a done deal at this point.
Crean got 9 years
Tge king gets 9 years. He has 7 new players!!!!

Hopefully not.  But you never know.  Millions of fans with some definite crazies in the mix who have been **** on by this administration for 25 years.  Keeping him on until the season is over you risk something like a Dave Bliss situation that brings down not just the basketball program but the university.

Why do that when we all know he’s gone?  That’s some very inept and irresponsible management.
