Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Recommended Posts

I don’t know if anyone on here regularly listens to Alex Bozich Podcast on the Brink on Inside The Hall but this one is a particularly a good one and he is joined by his dad Rick.  He usually doesn’t say too much bad stuff about the IU program and MW but he says this team’s performance is a lack of coaching.  If you haven’t listened, I highly recommend it.  It verifies that MW has lost the local media that originally supported him.

They need a complete overhaul IMO!  They are fomunda cheese with mold, actually their coach is the mold and the smell!

And this is a “down year” for us. Teri Moren has done a phenomenal job with the women’s program.

This may be a down year somewhat but really should not be down too far. They still have a lot of talent on that team and Clark is gone from Iowa.  They have enough talent to be top 15-20 and it looks like they are starting to play like that.

Maybe my intel is off, but it seems we're struggling a bit to get her much NIL?

If so, that stinks.  The growth of the WBB program under her leadership has been excellent and seeing attendance grow over the years has been awesome.  I'm sure she'll be fine, but if we could get her some more resources for players that would be great.  IUWBB could be a top-5 program -- we have the coach, fan interest, and facilities.

Perhaps the rev share will help -- we can chip off some of that $22M/yr to WBB.

Take it from the men’s program, they aren’t using it wisely, lol

I use the small 32 oz spray bottle around the house, but found this online. Does anyone have Dolson's email? I have even filled the order out for him. It's cool that they will send available stock so that they can get started while waiting on the rest, the  cigar and spilled wine ostench may take a good minute to remove.

Expecting more of the same hard-to-watch basketball today. This team and program feels just stuck in mediocre purgatory. You tune in to watch and see a team that looks like it just going through the motions, no heart, no hope. A team that was highly touted in the preseason but many already knew it was all BS as they were always going to run out the same trash tactics that have plagued them since the beginning. The same program that gets blown out in the majority of games against good competition under Woodson.

Are there bright spots on this team? I guess in spots. This team is going to have to work some serious magic in Big Ten play just to even make it on the bubble and inevitably get dog walked again if they sneak in just like a large number of other games under Woodson. You watch the games and there is never a feeling that they are going to "get over the hump" as he's said for the last few years. That alone is enough to make a program change. Its all BS.

This coming offseason is going to be huge for the program if they ever decide to get serious about basketball again. If not, it will just be more of the same hollowed out program with a fan base starving for success again.

That may not be enough.  They can take the cost out of MW’s pay

Sums it up perfectly. I actually think he’s tried to change some things. But he’s just an ineffective coach with no real systems.

And all the plays for midrange jumpers drives me bonkers. Get some guards that can win 1v1s and read and react. It’s not that difficult.

That Louisville game was just completely inexcusable. We played 2 decent halves against Zag and Neb. But just have no idea the effort and mental needed to defend. Woodson and staff should be tremendously embarrassed by the defensive performances we put up.

Letting Ballo especially get switched on and guarding the perimeter multiple possessions is criminal. Unfortunately Reneau, Mgbako aren’t much better. And besides Leal, our guards can’t keep their guys in front. What a disaster.

The king could pull a big upset today.
