Fire Coach Woodson Thread

He’d actually have to do any coaching for me to rate him. Not one Woodson team has gotten better as the season progresses. He makes almost no adjustments, he either can’t or doesn’t teach his archaic defense. He has none of the hallmarks of a head coach. We have a figurehead in a retirement job not a coach.

Not quite true they always seem to play well when the season no longer matters or like when it’s miracle time. IU had to come back 2 times in Woodson’s tenure to even have the “success” he had. They lose to Michigan in the BTT they are probably a 3 seed in the NIT. The home game vs Michigan on TJDs last home game as a Hoosier. IU loses that game they probably are a 6/7 seed in the BIG Ten tourney and 7 seed in the NCAA tourney. So yeah basically he isn’t good.

Feed the football program, starve the men's basketball team for a few years.  Get a new money printer started over at Memorial Stadium because as long as we refuse to humor the NIT, we shouldn't bother with this farce.

Wouldn’t be the worst idea. Make the new coach demonstrate he has coaching chops before pouring a bunch of money in.

So the schedule projection/line has us facing Ohio State twice. Once away, once at home. Says we're going to lose the away by three but win the home by five. Watching this Ohio State vs Kentucky game(Like Woodson SHOULD BE doing but I guarantee isn't) to see what we're up against and I gotta tell ya, we're not beating them either game and it won't be close. Chalk that up to two losses.

A good bball coach would make up the difference, and let’s be honest putting $ into that program has yielded very little in 30+ years. Recruit high IQ Indiana kids, higher a less is more coach, and spend $ on football and win titles. The powers that be over Mens Basketball have failed us. I think nobody even cared we played today.

Woodson probably would never openly admit it, but I bet he has the philosophy that he does not need to focus on what other teams do.  He is good enough to just do what they do better than whoever it is. Which is really crazy considering the legandary coach he played for was probably the most prepared coach ever to walk the sidelines of a basketball court.

It's never been common. It's happened rarely and it's not a knock on Woodson.

No idea if it's been common or not, but I do know certain coaches historically would try to get their players a game in their home state during their 4 year career. Dean Smith was one. I went to watch Eric Montross play at Butler b/c of it.

Not being rude here. Do you think Coach Woodson right now could tell you where all of his players are from? I’m guessing he knows roughly half or maybe 2/3’s. Only shot he has is if they’re born on a fairway or near a clubhouse.

His lack of knowledge is unsurpassed. Guarantee he doesn't know who the best freshman or sophomore in the state is.

A better question would be whether Woodson could name all his players..
