Fire Coach Woodson Thread

Recommended Posts

Not everyone is better than Woodson. But many/most are. With Indiana resources we can and should be doing much better. We aren’t even into February and Woody has taken a top 15 preseason ranked team with a top 10 budget to a +12.5 vs our biggest rival. Projected to miss the dance for the second consecutive season. Literally let’s try anyone else with the confidence to take the job.

Grant McCasland wins. Just try a guy who wins and has some confidence about himself. Woody is sleepwalking through the season. Team is unguided, misguided. Done with it.

Buzz Williams would be a yes for me. Never occurred to me to consider the possibility but he is a winner. Definitely a guy who gets it.

Although I will admit, the fit seems odd. I can't place it or articulate it, but something seems off about it.

He’s kind of Gene Keady-lite. And his time at Marquette wasn’t any better than Tom Crean or Mike Dean both whom preceded him.

This board is in for a rude awakening 6 or so weeks from now despite what you’ve been told for months by the self-proclaimed important people on this board. When May signs that extension with Michigan and Stevens turns us down (again), going to have to pivot fast. You’re talking guys like Ben McCollum, Bucky McMillan, Josh Schertz, etc who are complete crapshoots as next tier candidates. Give me Will Wade over those three in a heartbeat, assuming someone else doesn’t beat us to the punch.

No rude awakening for me but thanks for looking out.  How long have you been on this board?  Me and Will Wade go way back on here

McCasland is 48 years old, at a P5 Program, and wins. If Dolson decided he was the best choice I'd be 100% for it.

He is quirky.  I don’t know if he still does the three piece suits.  A&M is an odd school.  He can coach, but can’t say he seems like a fit here.

I was told I was in for a rude awakening last spring when we signed these portal kids. We were going to the Sweet 16 or Elite 8 just wait. Now we are in for a rude awakening for when we don't get a big-time coach.

Yep facebook was taking final four. If you you didn't agree you were a hater. Looking forward to drinking tonight though. Hopefully my mental health holds up or I will be here asking old fart for help. He is worried about me.

Try arguing that Wade would be better than Buzz Williams, Stevens, Brownell, McDermott, Beard (also arguably not a good guy at all), McCasland, Hoiberg (who ain't coming to IU) or even Micah. At least then you wouldn't be mis-representing as a way of propping up scumbag Wade.

None of those guys except for Brownell (who isn't better than Wade by a long shot) or Beard (who IU won't hire) are leaving their current jobs to come to IU. And why would they?

In my opinion, the three best coaches who would actually take the IU job if offered are (in this order): Beard, Wade, Mack

It is ironic that you talk about other people being dedicated to a cause.

I thought this place would be a morgue in January because of how great this team is... what happened? Were you mistaken?

I mean, you were still on the Woody train after sitting through the Bahamas and back to back blow outs to Neb and Iowa, lol

Who is unserious again?

Chris Mack, Will Wade, Brad Stevens, the Prophet Muhammad or John The Baptist... I don't care at this point.

POTFB and retire Mike Woodson.

I'd love to see John The Baptist with our NIL.  :)

I would take Beard, Wade maybe Mack. There are easily 50 coaches in CBB that I would take over Woodson, maybe 100

If we are looking at coaches who have broken the rules and were sanctioned, can we just bring back Sampson?

(to save people from jumping on this...I know that won't happen)

*Broke rules that no longer exist nor are no longer enforceable

If Sampson wanted to come back to IU, sure sign him up. He'd hit the ignore button before the 2nd ring though.
