As soon as Ellison entered the portal CCC was following him. It was a day or two before he was announced coach. Guessing this is a player he really liked. So I guess I'm glad he got someone he really wanted.

what's not to like at 4.5 yards per carry

Fairly pedestrian stat line. Roughly 2000 career yards, 4.5yds/carry. Doesn’t appear to be used much in the passing game. But he’s played a fair anoint of football in a major conference. So welcome aboard.

Reaction from 1 of the, I believe, 2 Wake Forest receivers the staff has offered. I suppose that makes sense given that JMU would have probably recruited a lot of the same kids that Wake would have.

In college, 4.5 isn't on the higher side.  But 4.5 ypc at Wake Forest isn't bad.

FWIW, he entered college as a wide receiver so I am betting him not getting many passes throw his way is more on the offensive philosophy of Wake Forest.

He’s in the mix for next year. So he must’ve gotten one at some point.

Yeah, I was under the impression he was done too. But when he transferred the article said:

"With the free year from Covid, and because he only played in three games this fall, Henderson should have three years of eligibility remaining."

So we have to replace Lucas and Howland.

That shouldn't be too difficult. Lucas was good at kickoff return. Absolutely horrid at punt return. Terrible as a RB. Meh as a WR.

Not sure I really get some of these moves unless they really are just getting more $. Much like previous transfers, they either seem lateral or worse programs. But each to his own and good luck.

I would question why any players from IU are getting any NIL money from other schools. Even from IU.

A chance to experience free agency to better themselves is probably the motivating factor in like 90% of transfers. While the other percentages fall in the various categories from closer to home to coaching changes to personality conflicts on the team to flat being told to leave. I know if I were in their shoes I probably would do the same.  It couldn't hurt to test the market. To be a student-athlete these days.

Coach Cig is going to have a lot to prove. Probably will be a lot of what looks like lateral moves.

Doing more with equal is going to need to be a real thing. You’d like to eventually see a roster talent improvement with 5x or more Nil involvement.

We win more than 2 games extra, last season, solely with better play calling. Let’s hope he checks that box for us.
