2023-24 IUFB Transfer Portal

Not worried one bit. I'm guessing IUFB loses 30% maybe more of its 2023 roster and gains 30% maybe more of other players from other schools. If 10% of the incoming are from JMU that is a good start for the 90% to learn what is expected and how things work from the day to day. The 10% will help change the way the 70% still at IUFB think.

I just don't get some fans. Everyone has wanted Allen gone and now that has happened. We have hired a guy who has proven he can build a program and has a record of 119-35. He has been here for a week and people are already complaining on his roster management. You should realize no matter who the coach is that there was going to be a mass exodus of the roster.

Not a single person is complaining. Good lord.

Scott, I’m one of the posters posting in the post. Thanks for keeping us in line, though.

How about this quote

I'm curious if I'm the only person who has this concern, but I'll raise it anyway. We need to compete at a B1G level, not a Sun Belt level. Granted, we haven't been terribly competitive in P5 in the past three years -- bI'mut I just hope Dorothy (er, Coach Cig) realizes he's not in Kansas anymore.

I think it must have been on the other site but one guy was really upset with Cig and the way he is going about his business. Calmed arrogant and not being able to relate to players

So, that’s your case for “some fans complaining”?

I'm not as much of a football guy so not following as closely, but... I'm really looking forward to just turning on the TV in the fall and seeing an IUFB team that is well coached at a minimum, in terms of discipline and situationally. We're gonna have a talent disparity for a few seasons, but CCC knows what he's doing, so I'll just learn about the personnel once they're in fall camp.

I have no expectation for a bowl game next year but would be very impressed if that somehow happens. Deion couldn't do it at Colorado. Getting to bowls consistently and the extra practice time that affords is HUGE in college football, I do know that much. So that should be the first goal... competing in the conference and all that will be a great phase 2. We'll see how quickly we get there.

It's kinda crazy actually feeling confident we're headed in the right direction, after the tease that 2019/2020 were.

Then complain about the complaining on the other site.

You really came on this site to complain about negative posting … that wasn’t on this site?!?

Aye caramba

I'm the one who wrote that and as it states -- it's just a concern.

If you're interpreting this as complaining, then either you misunderstood or I wasn't clear enough.

Either way -- as the great Aaron Rogers says: R-E-L-A-X.

I will never forget in 2015 when we lost to Michigan 48-41 and lost a 2OT heartbreaker. The stadium was more insane than I'd ever seen it before and ever saw it since. On par with our basketball environments for sure, I was at the front of the student section and soooo ready to rush the field. I had my spot picked out and everything. I was gutted. I feel like that energy was a glimpse of what CCC will be able to recreate and I'm looking forward to it/happy the students will have a chance to see us actually win a game like that.

We've got the $$ resources and, now the staff, to build a team worth getting excited for. That in itself has me pretty giddy.

Sudfeld had a cannon on him. Jordan Howard was a beast.

By the way, all, it’s a message board. Feel free to post as negatively as you want as long as it’s within board rules. You may get heat for it, but it’s absolutely the place to vent your negative thoughts too!

Is it too early to start a FIRE CURT CIGNETTI thread?

(Just kidding, everyone -- don't go all apesh*t on my a$$ for that, too).

CCC seems to have a plan. He has laid out pretty well how he intends to implement it. LEO was about relationships and not much about how to get things done. That is the difference between who we had and who we've got. Nothing wrong with LEO as a concept for how people treat each other. But, we have needed structure and discipline for a long time and I'm pretty sure we are about to get it.

I wanted McCulley back selfishly but his Nil offers will be crazy. Aside from that, whoever Cig can get that can take the heat I’ll be happy with. We likely won’t be able to judge him based on Portal results as he isn’t Star hunting.

I’m not convinced he gets anything done at the level of the B1G, but I’m here to watch him try. Proof will be in the pudding on field. Not much else will matter.
