All4You Podcast talked about this but it looks like Coach Cig might be re-writing the playbook on how to use the portal. Basically bring in  a lot of G5 all-conference and FCS All-American players that have been productive and highly graded.

This is of course IUFB produces on the gridiron this season. There's always that doubt that these type of players are in the G5 and FCS for a reason. We'll see it all play out for sure and I can't wait.

It happens in college hoops all the time. Bring in a highly productive player from a mid/low-major.

Seems a little less obvious with football, maybe because FCS players tend to have lesser physical measurables, but if executed smartly? Hell yes!

I'm fine with giving it a try since: A) What IU football has been doing since forever, obviously hasn't worked and B) going out and stocking up on 4 & 5 star guys isn't realistic. It's not like he's gonna hurt the brand or break the traditions of IUFB. Go all mad scientist and try something- anything - to change the trajectory of the program.

It will be interesting to see how it play out for Cig/IU  in football.

On the basketball side, as an example, Dalton Knecht from Northern Colorado? Grand slam for Tennessee. Second team All-Mac Payton Sparks for IU? Meh.

Eagerly awaiting the opener.

Seems like Sparks could’ve made an impact on the D line, maybe we just brought him in for the wrong sport. Lol
