I’m also not convinced Gunn stays unless he gets things a little more figured out this year. I don’t think Cupps goes anywhere. He’ll find a way to be useful on any team. But Gunn’s already been recruited over. He’s just gotten a reprieve because of Newton’s knee. If Stu’s scenario comes to pass and Newton’s knee gets healthy, Gunn has no role and he’s smart enough to get that, whether he agrees with it or not. Would be pretty surprised if he doesn’t move on. He’s not gonna be the next Leal. Stuhoo 1 Quote

Absolutely. He is the consummate crack filler for a really good team. But if he’s good enough that he’s playing 30 mins in a primary role for you your guards aren’t good enough. If he’s not making shots he has no other way to help you offensively and really he’s hurting you because he’s gonna get his looks if it kills him. Has a little bit of bad Davonte in him that way but he lacks the good Davonte part because he can’t create looks for himself or anyone else. Quote

His defense has looked better than expected though and on this team, perimeter D is needed. Now I have only seen 2 games so he could have been terrible on D in the others Ngw7183 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 5, 2023 Author Posted December 5, 2023 Suggestion to everyone including me. We need to do a little bit better job with posts that aren't on point with the topic of the thread. Above, we got into some convo on Gunn and then on Trey and if you just jump into the middle of the thread, you could misread negative comments made on their performance and assume they were negative comments on Sanon. Thanks for the investment of time by you and all the moderators. Can't help but think of how I sure do miss me some CCG - Capiche? at the end of that statement.
