94Bulldog Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Anderson controlled the 3Q, leading 37-30 at one point and looked to be about to blow the game open. A Boston Willard 3 closed their lead to 4 late in the 3rd. From there GC went on a 11-2 run the first 4 minutes of the 4th to take control. A combination of 3 straight Anderson turnovers, Mullins took over with a 3 and a layup with an and one turned the tide. Likely to be tight games again Friday night and if New Pal and GC meet Saturday, there may not be a seat to be had. Both my kids graduated from GC and I’ve been to dozens of games over the years. Never seen it as packed as last night. Anderson and Richmond both traveled well but I’m sure the New Pal contingent and interested onlookers like myself will take their seats but the gym was at least 2/3 yellow last night for the home school. thebigweave and Class of '66 Old Fart 1 1 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 @94Bulldog question for you. I read that Anderson's Damien King had 17 at the half and Braylon had 10. King finished with 24; Mullins with 26. For any extended period of time was either guarding the other? 94Bulldog 1 Quote
Chris007 Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Braylon is the exact type of kid we need here at IU. He is a scorer, shot maker and just a tremendous type of player that we need. He's only getting better and better too. 94Bulldog, craigyv88, thebigweave and 2 others 5 Quote

GC plays a 1-2-2 zone with Braylon at the top. King was roaming side to side through the paint on the wing on offense. GC did a much better job not leaving him any space in the 2nd half by moving to a 1-3-1 but I think he went 5-6 from deep in the 1st half. Anderson double teamed Mullins pretty much everytime in the first half when he had the ball and then in the 2nd played a mix of full court swarming man to man and a 2-1-2 half court trap. Only very late in the game when the guy who had been guarding Mullins was in foul trouble did King cover him a couple times. One of those times, Mullins hit a clutch cross over step back 3 during their run. thebigweave and Class of '66 Old Fart 1 1 Quote
Chris007 Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Poor kid breaks the all-time single-season scoring record at his high school and IU gives him a call to say Congrats. Simply inecusable LockdownD, southsidehoosier, JF87 and 3 others 6 Quote

go iu bb Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 He and Trent Sisley aren't ranked top 30. That seems to be the only thing Woodson looks at. Couple that with both of them being from Indiana, he probably thinks he can land them with minimal effort. thebigweave, Maedhros and JF87 3 Quote

Had his meeting with Dolson last night (according to Trilly). If you have to tell your head guy to show up for top in state talent, it’s time to make a move. Period. Each day we get more evidence that justifies removing him. I can’t believe anyone supports him staying. Recruiting has completely flatlined. For a guy that has experience in the NBA, you’d think he would understand that having to outspend everyone each season to build a roster is unsustainable. Recruiting high school kids builds a foundation for the program. Outside of the Liam Mcneeley’s, kids like Sisley and Mullins can bring the cost average of each player down and save the program some money. Not just that but you get some roster stability. Having to pay $300k-$700k per impact portal player is absurd. Especially when you consider we are going to need AT LEAST 5 guys (probably more) if he’s retained. MemphisHoosier 1 Quote

Part of me wonders why... I'm sure it's optics, but Woodson has not done the work to build relationships with these players, coaches and families... Woodson has ZERO chance of landing any of the '25 big 3 - Haralson, Sisley or Mullins... so just stop the charade and fire his @$$ today. I'm so past "honoring his legacy" by letting him "chose" to retire... the hard working, never say die player is looking soft, lazy and arrogant... cybergates and taco corp 1 1 Quote
