Upon reflection from Tuesday evening, I realized this: A Rutgers player was hit in the johnson by Johnson, who's coached by Woody. He deployed Cupps.  Maybe that should've happened earlier.

Kentuckys are losses to Kansas by 5 and UNC-Wilmington

UNCs are losses to Nova by 2, UConn by 11 and Kentucky by 4

Dukes are to Arizona by 5, Arkansas by 5 and Georgia Tech by 4

Indianas are to UConn by 20, Auburn by 28 and Kansas by 4... So I guess it depends if you feel losing to UNCW or Georgia Tech are worse or equal to losing by 20 and 28.

It’s hard not to think that Indiana is hoping for Dusty May in 2-3 years.  Michael Lewis won’t be ready for the gig yet.  I’m sure behind the scenes There are some potential continuation candidates. 
 

it would be best if Woody steps it up, realizes his faults and we have 2-3 more good seasons before the switch.

I saw something last night where they posed the question -- Dusty starts looking at open spots for next year, say Louisville.  His team reaches out to Dolson to let him know "if you want Dusty, now is the time."  Then what?

I only expected 5 out of him. The entire plan for Woodson should have been 5 years at max unless he was absolutely killing it(he isn't close). Let him bring together past and present. Get some sort of stability(still trying to get there). And then pass it on. There isn't anyone currently on the bench worth the job or that could even coach to begin with, that's pretty clear. CBB really doesn't have any big time up and comers. Just not the state things are in now. Gonna have to find a guy and just hope like hell it actually works out. Unless you can recruit like crazy(Scheyer), it's going to be difficult a new coach for a lot of programs. Villanova is seeing it right now. Michigan is seeing it. Ohio State has seen it. UConn went through it. Michigan State, Kansas and Kentucky will find out. Indiana is gonna have to really do their homework to find the next guy and it'll be sooner rather than later.

History hasn’t been kind to coaches past the age 70, and in a lot of cases they fall off earlier than that. I’d take that into consideration when hiring, but I’ll hang up and listen…

Agree about Dusty. Not sure I agree about Lewis. If he is very successful at Ball St. (taken in Ball St context) after many years as the top assistant under Cronin at UCLA? To me that says 'as ready as he's gonna be.'

I was just being sarcastic that people around here say Woodson is too old but let's hire Pearl who is two years younger. The goalpost always changes. We need a coach who can get us to the tournament every year. Now we need a coach who wins neutral games in the nonconference season and goes to a sweet 16. It's all exhausting and I might be even dumber for posting in this thread.

Agreed but would totally be worth it just to see the reaction from Champaign.

Yeah same as Crean and other coaches but Pearl also has another Elite 8 appearance with Tennessee and has won his conference  regular season  multiple times with multiple teams.   Making a final 4 is hard.    That’s why when people are going through a coaches accomplishments that just getting to a Final 4 is a very big deal nowadays
