I've heard some talk that CTA might talk to the administration about a negotiated buyout much lower than the 25 million due to some health reasons. Heart problems run in the Allen family and this season has not been good for Allen. Not sure if it's true or not but I did hear that at the end of last week.

I know that heart problems run in his family, his dad and my FIL had heart surgery at the same time with the same doctor. So I think their worried about what all the stress would do down the road to his health. Take the money and walk away.

I meant at the same time of the year. The surgeries was days apart but bad choice of words on my part :-)

So we are supposed to not be embarrassed to be the worst team in big ten? Giving up 340 rushing yards to the 3rd and 4th string running backs? Getting beat by 42, but at least we didn’t turn the ball over. Great job Tom Allen on that ball security.

My expectations coming into this season? I fully expected this season to turn out how it has turned out because Tom Allen is a god awful coach. But generally? There’s no reason we can’t be an average football team. The worst team in the conference isn’t something we should accept.

It's not just Tom Allen. Not disagreeing with you, but what do we do, to be an "average" football team? People have been trying for 138 years to try and figure it out.

I see way too many “it’s IU football, what do you expect” comments. Sure, it’s IU football. I accept that we’re never going to be a national title contender. But there’s a wide gap between national title contender and national laughingstock, which is what we are now. There’s no reason we can’t consistently fail somewhere between the two. 

Unfortunately we’re stuck where we are now for the next two years because of Allen’s buyout.

Invest. 

Indiana has always invested in basketball while they treated football as cheap filler.  It's why any success in football has always been purely coincidental. 

Sure, we made adjustments to the stadium but we need to do more.
