Say whatever you would like about his coaching acumen (and you know I have!), but he was, and continues to be, a good man.  I hope we see him at a game or two this upcoming season.

Yup, and I will never forget that he took on that dumpster fire when the Tony Bennett’s of the world wanted no part of it. Nothing but respect for the guy.

And renegotiated his contract on that fact before he ever coached a game. I don’t think it was altruism, personally. 
 

He does seem like a solid guy though, and I have no problem with him hanging around and promoting the program. As sad as it is he’s our most successful coach since Knight and doesn’t seem to be headed back to coaching any time soon, so it kind of makes since for him and IU to keep some cordial connection. Kind of reminds me of Faust and ND football back in the day.

Interesting note from this video, at least to me: Woody made the comment about Jakai not being a full go so far, but he’s not even wearing a sleeve, let alone a brace.
