WayneFleekHoosier Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 We are strongly in the mix with several guys. I don’t understand the panic of some fansReally? Did you follow 2023 recruiting? Next year is the biggest concern. 2024 is a ways off and it looks good now, but landing those type of guys is a concern. Transfer portal or bust next season. 2024 is a very distant thought if we go to the crapper next season. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

sweetpain Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 I think we just need some positive news on the recruiting front. It would be nice to get a valued commitment. We are in there on a ton of players and it appears positive but would like a verbal soon.Sent from my SM-S918U using Tapatalk WayneFleekHoosier, ALASKA HOOSIER and NVFalcons1990 3 Quote

I pointed to 2023 efforts as a reference that at one point we felt good about 2023. 2024 is a long way off. I love that our targets are well regarded. I hope we land a few. When the program shows consistency the fanbase will react in kind. PS- this season has been fun. Good and bad moments but I’ve always said being a top 25 program year in and out will keep me entertained. I mean, I’d like to be a shoe in top 10 program at some point but I’ve been riding out the storm for 30 years so far. Keep your jabs to yourself. WayneFleekHoosier Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Woody has brought in 3 -5 stars. How far in advance were Bates and Reneau signed? You don’t like woody. That fine but the constant hand wringing gets old. Come at me some more and I’ll gladly call you outWhere is this I don’t like Woody nonsense coming from. I have my questions, but I like Woody. He’s done a solid job so far. Lots of work left to do. My biggest issue was always age. I obviously wanted Stevens first and foremost or a guy like Nate Oats due to his age and results but Woody was always going to be a “see it out” scenario. Personally, he’s great. Really like him as a person. As a coach, still have questions. But I’m on the Woody fan bus because it needs to work. I’ve also pointed out the transfer portal has a chance to be our saving grace. It does. And still maybe Bidunga. But my point was and is pointing to ‘24 and expecting recruiting wins, isn’t ant guarantee, it needs to happen on the dotted line because ‘23 was a setback. The true ‘24 guys are probably going to watch us in ‘23. Gotta find a way to keep winning. Lots of time left. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners mobile app lillurk and HoosierAloha 2 Quote
WayneFleekHoosier Posted February 18, 2023 Posted February 18, 2023 Back to McNeeley. Kids a stud and likes us. He appears to be a top recruit for us much like TJ Powers. All I’m saying is we need some recruiting confidence to get back on the horse. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners HoosierAloha, sweetpain, jonz44 and 2 others 5 Quote

Popular Post Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 10, 2023 Author Popular Post Posted March 10, 2023 Follow-up commentary from Rob Cassidy following the updated Rivals '24 recruit rankings earlier this week. “I advocated for making Liam McNeeley a five-star based on a few reasons, not the least of which is the Montverde Academy star’s remarkable consistency. Even the best prospects are prone to occasional slumps at his age, but McNeeley seems almost immune to off games in big moments. I can’t remember a time over the last year where the Texas-born prospect failed to massively impact a game I scouted in person, and his development as a passer and defender in the past few months have helped set him apart from the pack. Simply put, there are few prospects in this class that are more reliable than the 6-foot-8 junior.” - Cassidy LockdownD, GloryDays, lillurk and 6 others 9 Quote
