IU vs St Mary’s - Thursday: NCAA Round of 64- 7:20 pm ET on TBS

Recommended Posts

I can say this with fair bit of confidence - if we lose tomorrow there won't even be a thought in the players or coaches minds that travel had an impact on the result.  "If only the plane would have gotten us there 5 hours earlier..." or "If only we didnt have to travel all the way out to Oregon"  No, that's some eeyore loser mindset.

We couldn't just use our own means to get to Portland ASAP then send an invoice to recoup?

Not sure how quickly we could have accessed an alternative large enough plane at 1:00 am in Dayton

I meant that IU sets up the flights beforehand with whoever they charter with and have one flight leave immediately (team/coaches) then a 2nd flight in the morning leaving with auxiliary University personnel. Then whenever the tournament run ends, they foot the bill to the NCAA and therefore the NCAA isn't running the logistics.

I read that Tennessee bypassed the NCAA entirely and is using their own transportation. I'm guessing they're paying for it themselves too. Probably worth every penny to not deal with those nimrods.

On the other hand, I hope Wright St makes the NCAA pay for limos for each player to drive the 5 miles from their campus to the Dayton Arena.

On one hand your basically home. On the other hand you have to play in your rival’s arena.

As Dayton might say, “(w)right state, wrong college.”

I feel the same way whenever watching the IU/Duke game from 2002 before the NCAA made every court look exactly the same. Iconic moment in our school's recent history and there's pUKe logos everywhere.

No one slept on the plane huh lol

I’m not surprised I guess but if  Woody, I request the lights off and quiet. Wtf are they up all night unnecessarily? At least get 3-4hours of sleep in

Maybe they did? None of us were on the plane. It doesn't really matter, anyway.
