The trainwreck, excuse making, pass the blame, chemistry be damned part of the IU season is now fully underway. Yippee.

Someone probably asked him a related question  and instead of being full of garbage, like most, he answered truthfully. Nothing to see here.

Maybe.. maybe not. We as fans will look for ANYthing to blame for losses. The timing of Rob works for the theory. But the reality is he had 1 great game this year. We’ve lost to good teams all season and some mediocre teams as well with him. Are we better with him? Probably. Is he the savior we are missing? Absolutely not. We just aren’t very good, and haven’t been all season. But I’ll welcome a healthy RP back anytime as this team needs change and help.

We severely lack in confidence and swagger. We tuck our tail between our legs everytime a game gets tight, sans Purdue. Bunch of nervous nellies self fulfilling prophecies of failure. Sad situation to watch game in and game out.

I don’t know what to say!

It would be amazing to watch a player, maybe one that has been on the team for three or four years that has endured so much losing, emerge as the leader of peers and rise above this ****. I've bitched and moaned enough about the (lack of) leadership on this team. You would think season after season of missing goals someone would put an end to this but here we are. Do we seriously have a group of players that have been around this long that can take this team by the balls and say enough is enough? Have we recruited only "yes" players that are afraid to ruffle feathers to accomplish a goal? Is this common amongst this age group? Have things changed that much that people are fine with being liked by their teammates over pushing each other to be better?

A major part of why this season has been as frustrated as it has been is watching the same **** against a different team. If there were a few things I thought Woody could impact in his first season it was leadership and playing together. If this team had a player or two that would have stepped up and would have been groomed over the summer we wouldn't be watching this on repeat. **** this pisses me off.

You don't have to hit every shot, make every defensive stop, make every read perfectly to be a leader. You do have to hold each other accountable. You do have to put in the work and bring others along. You do sometimes have to piss your friends off not to be a Purdue Person but to raise their game to another level. The unfortunate part is we will have a group of young men that will have gone through their entire time at IU not realizing their potential. They're much better than they have played for several years and "learning how to win" is being discussed at the end of the season when "I'm tired of ******* losing" should have been the theme over the summer.

There is plenty of improvement that needs to be figured out by the coaches. There is plenty of skill development on an individual level that can be worked on. Until we have players that are fed up with the results we'll fall short of potential. One of the returning players needs to find it within themselves that they've had enough and will raise the level of accountable from their peers. Again, shut up and put the work in, bring your peers along, and then let your game speak for what it means to win.

Just win, baby!

So, does Galloway dress and play tonight?

I did enjoy the way that IU came back against OSU.  There were certain aspects that hurt, sure.  But IU really did have a fairly decent 2nd half.

Actually, neither team, OSU nor IU, played really well.  Except for Malachi B.

No turnovers early and IU wins tonight.

From what I've read on other boards Galloway will be a no-go tonight.

Fatts Russell has been playing really well. He is the straw that stirs their drink.

The version of X from the second half against OSU is up to the task. He will need to be.

Trey really handled Ayala last time. That worries me

I have us out of the NCAA tournament, outside looking in currently.

There's still a chance we could make it but tonight is another MUST-WIN, for the programs sake and our NCAA hopes.

I had us at 20 wins this regular season, I'm starting to become worried about my prediction. :D

Well lets hope second half of OSU Tamar shows up

Minus the late game forced shots and the other contested shots. While he hit several against O$U, those aren't really good shots. Glad he hit them and if he continues hitting them at a respectable %, sure. The diagonal pass from TJD where he caught and shot was nice. I'd like to see more of that. I believe he actually slid from the corner to the wing to make himself available for that pass too. Let's see more of that. Taking good shots in the flow of the offense will lead to more consistent results. The contested shots will continue to lower our % and make it more difficult to win.

you are overthinking it.

Trey is out meaning Tamar will have to play a lot. He was productive in the second half and that is what we will need. That's really all I was saying lol

True, true.

We should add spray and pray to our post and pray to make our offense more dynamic.

Reinforcing making the right decision on offense, especially for the younger guy, is overthinking it? He was productive or he got shots up? He was around 25% from the field. It's not that he can't shoot it's the shots that he's taking that lowers that % and makes our offense horrendous.

was he perfect, no?

but he hit 3 huge shots down the stretch that should have won IU the game. So yes he was productive.

We have needed a guy that would hit big shots in crunch time and he did that. My OP was that I hope that guy shows up. That is all I was saying. imo you are overthinking my post

Just explaining how we could get a more consistent, productive Bates (and many other players) but I guess we can just hope too.

Go Hoosiers.

Go Hoosiers.

And several empty possessions, any of which could have won the game.

Something about hope in one hand and such.

Go Hoosiers, hope we show up!
