I wonder a little if TJD was still slowed by the fall he took against Nebraska.  He definitely was more handsy on defense than I've seen him this year which could be because he couldn't move as well.  Thankfully the guys behind him came up huge.

I agree.  Posted a question about this in another thread.  Is TJD ready for prime time?  He was apparently rubbing his hip before the game...according to one poster.  I agree he seemed to be slapping at the ball more than usual and that brings on a foul call.  Anyone have insight?

I disagree, a little. Not having Phin & Gallo on the floor early (read starting) we more often than not dig ourselves a hole, and the bench becomes the calvary. I would like to at least TRY it for a couple of games to see if it makes a difference.

CMW is not changing the lineup!

I believe 26 minutes for Rob is the most this season. If he starts the 2nd half does he have the energy to hit the last shot? Which was his only basket of the 2nd half.

I don’t have the stats to back it up, but I’ve noticed Phinesee doesn’t score much in the 2nd half like he does in the 1st half.  It maybe a little fatigue.  To me, it’s fine to have him come off the bench, he has bought into that role and now he’s starting to play much better.  CMW has stated that it is more important who finishes the game than to start it

Rob said on the Dakich show that TJD was still banged up. I would assume something like a big bruise or sore hip from the fall in the Nebrasketball game.

He scored most of his 17 1st half points as the primary PG last night with X on the bench. Played with X for most of the 2nd half with X as the primary PG.

But and a little late in the first half with X at PG. He scored 13 of his 20 pts as the primary last night without X on the court.

I hope, wish, and pray that Dane, Kenya, and the other coaches perform an "intervention" on CMW and convince him to have Phin & Galloway start. They have proven (for much more than one game) that they are far better all around players than Kopp & Stewart. Nothing against those 2, it's just the reality. Let Kopp & Stewart come off the bench to give guys a blow.
I have to admit, that Kopp, while having a big goose egg on the stat sheet, did play some really good defense on Stefanovich (sp?). But we can't afford to have a player only play defense and not score IMO.
The big difference between PS defense and Gallo's defense is that Gallo tried to prevent his man (mainly Ivey in the first half) from even getting the ball. PS played defense (and not very good D) AFTER Ivey got the ball. Galloway kept Ivey in front of him. Only got beat once or twice all game. I'll take that.
Great gutsy win for the guys. Proud of them.
I've never been one to dwell on who should start or not. IMO, the question should be who plays in crunch time.

Largely agree, always more interested in how and whom we play down the stretch —

but, when the starters are putting us in a hole, defending poorly, like 1st half against PU, and the guys who come in are killing it, and then staff just blindly go back to the starters in the 2d, as they did, that really bothers me. Blind adherence to the playbook needs to be avoided
