I said that being top 30 in attendance fits with where we probably are as a program. I.e., we’re a top 30 program and the butts in seats reflects that of a top 30 program. When we were a top 5 program in Knight’s hay day, Assembly Hall reflected that. Sorry if I was confusing.

They are closer to top 10 in attendance then they are top 30 in attendance.   I don’t know how to compare true attendance with butts in the seats compared to other teams all I can go by are the official numbers.  If other people don’t want to use the official numbers when talking attendance I’m not sure what else to debate about.   My point was that a program without a single tournament appearance in 5 years and a losing confidence record still shows up in the official top 10 in attendance for all of college basketball.    Not many fan bases would still be engaged.    I absolutely agree when Knight was here the Hall was rocking but it was also rocking during some of the Crean years as well especially when they were number 1.   I don’t have any answers on how they get this turned around I just know people are always going to show up to watch IU for better or worse

Commentators don't get paid to be like "well this place is half empty. Atmosphere is blah as can be. Wish I were home watching HGTV instead."

No, they would say exactly what they say when IU plays football at home:  nothing.

Another year of Archie could’ve led us to a better coach this April.

We’ll never know!

This isn't the NBA. A college coach has too many responsibilities to stay in a holding pattern with someone who isn't getting it done.

The Wisconsin collapse was a huge opportunity lost  for the program to say hey it’s gonna be different this time.

The results would be icing on the cake.

Every game is an opportunity to show effort (still not a problem?), play smart, and execute. We can’t worry about results until we clean up all the little/basic/simple aspects of the game that we can absolutely control. It’s been an issue within the program for several coaches now.

Would love to be a storybook, cardiac team that pulls out games.  Our opinion and demeanor would be so much better on this board if we had somehow won a couple of the Syracuse/Wisky/Penn State games.

But whether we won or lost those, the going forward from here is pretty similar -- fix what can be fixed and we'll succeed, not and we'll continue to struggle in Big Ten play.  I don't have certainty that we'll struggle or we'll get things fixed;  at the minimum, that's better than last year when I had no doubt that once we started losing, it was going to continue.

Envious watching the motion in Purdue’s offfense. Nothing but screening, cutting, curling, flashing and nobody is holding onto the ball for more than a second or two.

our offense is soooo stagnant and boring

We've played 13 games this year right?

I don't think I've seen progression yet. Perhaps not even a bit. But I wouldn't say we're a tanking boat at the moment. Neutral.

I’ve seen improvement, it may not be significant or greatly noticeable nonetheless.  We are shooting better from 3 than anytime during our last 4 years!  Our defense is better than anytime during our last 4 years, albeit both were against inferior competition but they still have to hit the 3’s and play D no matter the opponent.  Our last game we had less than 10 turnovers, well below our average.  Phinesee has seem to show improvement over the last several games.  Race has improved as the season has progressed, TJD has improved since the beginning of the season, Leal has improved since the beginning of the season.  I can keep going.   There is one guy who hasn’t seem to improve and that is X and we are were we are because of his inconsistencies in many aspects of the game.  Once he figures it out, this team will take off.

You mean the offense that has scored 11 points in 10 minutes

What has TJD improved since the beginning of the season? Ditto for Race and Leal? TJD is the same player he was last season. He's not rebounding nearly enough for his abilities. His FG% in Big 1.o games is nothing to be bragging about. The crazy thing about that is our conference opponents haven't been that great. Crazy!

This team has wayyyyyyy more issues than just "X figuring it out."

We did drop our turnovers against PSU. Improvement! We've hit a better % from deep against inferior competition. That's not going to work in the Big 1.o when defenders aren't leaving the 1 or 2 shooters we have and we refuse to run good sets for those shooters.
