Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff

Mike Roberts was at the team meeting today as well. So I’d imagine he will be back in some capacity.

Is there a role he could fill without using one of the 3 assistant slots? Sort of like Elston's role a few years ago?

It's possible. Rabby has stated he could stay on in a player development role and he could stay on as assistant #3 if other candidates don't work out. I would assume he's still going to be doing something or else he would've likely moved on already.

Gotcha. My guess is the staff fill outs with one of Fife/Lewis and then possibly the guy from Texas. Would like for Roberts to stick around, but not just because he was here before.

I have a gut feeling that Hunter and Roberts may have had their hands tied a bit on what they were able to do under Archie so I'll let Woody, Matta, and Dolson make those decisions since they have a better grasp on guys coaching abilities.

That is a fair way to look at it, I will follow your thinking on this too. Good call.

I’d throw a butt load of money at Fife and Lewis and have them take over when Woody is done.

It looks like Fife makes about $340,000 a year at Michigan State.

I hope Fife comes on board. I was just thinking, if he does our coaching staff will have quite a bit of BIG coaching experience.

Hunter: 6 seasons as assistant in the BIG (Nebraska and Indiana)

Fife: 13 seasons as an assistant in the BIG (MSU and Indiana)

Matta: 13 seasons as head coach in the BIG (OSU)

Roberts: 2 seasons as assistant in the BIG (Indiana)

If that happens and we don't start winning in the BIG again, we never will.

This will be the final tale of Indiana Basketball if this all fails, again.

Unless.. of course. A certain head coach comes back home to his home state.. then..
