I'm scouting the Arkansas/LSU game for y'all to watch Musselman.

It's currently Arkansas 29, LSU 24.....9 minutes into the game.

IU didn't score 60 points in 40 minutes in our last four games.

See what he did when he did not like how Justin blew that layup/dunk?

Sec basketball compared to B1G basketball is like a different sport.   There is a reason B1G struggles to bring in top recruits.  Amazing the differences in the flow of the game and the way they are officiated

I was all about getting rid of Mike Davis at the time, but it’s tough to look at the success he had and not be envious of that now. We just had much higher expectations at the time. He was a really good recruiter, but not so great on the development. Bracey Wright and Marshall Strickland were really good players, but didn’t improve a lot under Davis. Hindsight being what it is, you have to wonder what might have happened if we would have given him time to mature as a coach. Although, he didn’t last long at UAB.

Sampson was definitely a case of the administration’s holier than though attitude. They wanted it both ways. In truth, it was the administration that killed IU basketball, not Sampson. They decided to give us the death penalty for text messages when the NCAA probably would have slapped us on the wrist. Let’s face it, they removed that rule a year or two later. That’s how important it was. The things that Sampson allowed behind the scenes were much worse than text messages. The guy was a really good coach though. The best we’ve had since Knight.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, wow, how much more dysfunctional can we get? Seems like we can’t go anywhere but up from here, but that’s how I’ve felt since Sampson got removed. If there’s a way to screw it up, I’m pretty sure the administration will find it.

I never thought we'd have a coach that would make me prefer Davis, but here we are.

Honestly, I'm not sure the administration even  wants to get it right in the first place.

some of these people, I suspect, are the same people who resisted the facilities updates and construction of Cook Hall since "Bob Knight won championships without them" and they thought the improvements were unnecessary

this time around I additionally suspect they're more worried about the (supposed) national "bad optics" that might result from dismissing a coach in his 4th year than they are worried about wins and losses. Appearance over substance, in other words...

Are you sure 'Appearance Over Substance' isn't already IU's tag line?

I think the administration is just hoping Archie will just go away. I don’t think the trustees will do anything till our home run is wrapped up.

So basically Dolson is putting feelers out there. Once he has his guy, they'll can Archie?

Probably take another job. If he would seriously consider taking another job, he should be pursuing the New Mexico job. That is a good gig. Manageable conference and great fan support. Alford was stupid to leave there.

Wouldn't be the first time an IU coach was connected to New Mexico.
