Popular Post OKHOOSIER Posted March 9, 2025 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2025 I think a lot of people myself included just believe that if we get to a point where Collins or Brownell are serious contenders, why not just take the chance on lightning in a bottle with McCollum. Worst case either way we do this again in four years. It's why I would prefer Cronin, just proven stability. Brownell or Collins do not provide that kind of guarantee. If we cannot hire someone who is, why not take a shot on someone winning 80% of their games. For Dolson, a gamble on Brownell or Collins being exactly what they have been at the high major level and him getting fired seem just as good as McCollum being crazy good and Dolson getting a lifetime contract. McCollum finished first in his conference 13 of 14 years. He also has 4 national championships. He also has an undefeated season, 2 seasons with only 1 loss, and 6 others with 5 or fewer losses. Archie never won at that level. But Archie had also recruited All American type players as a top assistant. That’s the part that’s hard to project with McCollum. (Personally I’m willing to risk it.) That I agree although it expires in June. Still think he’s a much safer risk than Chris Beard. Hoosier Roots, cybergates and lillurk 3

But people saying they won’t do it are just wrong. He is very much a candidate and at this point very much at the top of the list. I would say the reason it wouldn’t be Beard at this point is that he gets a better offer than that IU doesn’t offer. What are you basing this on. Would need to know at least a little bit of the sources for this even if not specific

He thinks Beard is the best coach we're going to be able to get, but doesn't think we'll hire him. Time will tell on the first part, but I agree on the second part. I think his take on the search at this point is just as, if not more, credible than anything else I've heard to date, given his connections. 8bucks and cybergates 1 1

I’m not sure what you think I’m biased about. I do happen to understand what evidence is, which is pretty hard for some people these days. Look, I heard from a donor a claim that Beard was being considered two weeks ago. I sent a DM about it to one of the insiders here. I know exactly where it’s coming from. Haven’t seen any evidence to confirm whether it’s real or a misdirection. 8bucks 1

Hoosier82 Posted March 9, 2025 Posted March 9, 2025 I trust Scott Dolson to make a good hire. I think he has earned that. We all have our preferred candidate, but I hope everyone gets behind whoever ultimately gets the job. HoosierSadaseci, Jeff Flabjohns, JustWinBaby and 4 others 7
