A friend sent me this today. Supposedly a conversation between Brad and Thad Matta I in no way endorse this information, maybe someone has seen this on another site or it may be AI generated. But this is the clearinghouse for coach information, so here it goes.

Are we to think the final decision has been made or is it still up for grabs?

If you only knew.

Let me guess. Dolson had stevens locked up and has just been sitting on his hands waiting for the stevens announcement. Stevens let him know yesterday the deal is off because his daughter doesn't want to move. Now we are scrambling! Is this close?

It means if he’s good enough for Clemson, he’s good enough for IU (sad face)

He was talking about Chris Collins at NW when using that language, not Brad Brownell.

He did mention that Brownell was considered widely as a solid up and comer when he was at Wright State before moving to Clemson and implied that "if Tom Crean" (Sorry @realTomCrean) didn't work out back then, Brownell would've been someone (was?) looked at hard...

My 1st guess would be that CC seems to be content with what he's doing at a nice safe job like Northwestern. You put him at IU and the heat gets turned up 100x. Doubtful he's looking for that

But didn't he feel he was snubbed to be Coach K's heir apparent and one of the reasons he left Duke?   Heat at Duke following K couldn't be that much different than heat at IU following Woodson.

Tom Crean 2011-2017:

138-69 W/L

63-45 B1G record

2x Conference champ

3x S16, 4x Tourney appearances

Notably his last season 2016-2017 OG tore his ACL and was out for the year. IU was 10-3  before his injury.

I’m not over 40 so this stretch seems pretty tolerable comparatively toward what has followed. This should be the baseline, many coaches, like Devries do not have the history that can achieve this level of success

I think he realized Coach K wasn't going to retire anytime soon and he didn't want to wait any longer for a head coaching gig so he took the NW job.

I myself am trust Scott that he will have a big name hire. He knows his job is on the line iu is back here in 4 years. this is his legacy hire. Whether is stevens or not he has the opportunity you hire a great coach. You know who's available before moving on from Woodson. Obviously woody was gone anyway but you still know who's out there before you do it. I have nothing rn but will return when i do:)

Wow quite an assumption considering you don't even know him at all. I dont like to assume things about people I don't know but you clearly do. I don't think you would be to open minded on a jury. Too much bias for sure.

Zach reporting a left field candidate is possible, but the search has been very tight lipped. He says it reminds him of the 2006 search. There were several names being thrown around at the time and then Kelvin Sampson came out of no where to obtain the job.

And water is wet...

I think we have known for a while most of the reporters and just throwing **** at the wall
