But it wasn't at the time... the dude cheated... obviously had an issue with following rules, or was interested in taking a shortcut... and as the leader of the program, he should set the example for his team...

I'm really tired of people justifying rule breaking because "it's legal now"... just because others cheated and didn't get caught or punished is no excuse...

When the institution setting the rules doesn’t bother enforcing them and instead celebrates schools blatantly violating them, the rules are meaningless. UNC’s players literally took fake classes and nothing happened to the basketball program. Wade got caught, did his time, and likely will go win a bunch of games for some P5 school. Unfortunately with IU’s holier than thou attitude it won’t be us.

He didn't cheat there.... Oklahoma and Indiana... and he sat out of college ball for 5 years (show cause)... paid his debt... it's pretty black/white, cut and dried.

What are you talking about? "He didn't cheat there" So what? By the time Sampson got back to college that rule wasn't a thing anymore, same as what Wade did. Wade paid his debt too. And somebody is gonna hire him and win big.

No way this is true right… is this the kicking and screaming game right?

That account has 745 followers and a bio that reads:

"Professional meatrider for the City of Louisville. Retired college hooper and low-major survivor. #Honeywhereismysupersuit #Frozonehaditfirst"

No offense but it's not even worth posting lol. Has 0 to do with any "game" being played other than usual internet trolling

Really all could’ve been avoidable. The biggest what if. Maybe 2 titles by now?  I guess what pisses me off more is that Myles Brand decided to announce it right in the middle of the season. Gordon was on a podcast some time ago and is still surprised/disappointed that they didn’t wait till end of season to deal with it…had national title aspirations that year and thought they could’ve won…of course, with Brand that wasn’t happening. Had to be right in the heart of season…done on purpose. Then again, still shocking we told on ourselves over phone calls lol. So trivial and benign when every other big school was paying players, fake classes and hiring strippers.

Exactly. The point is to be proactive and to hire these guys before somebody else does. Not let somebody else take a chance on him, he wins big and gets comfortable, and by then he won't want to leave while we're floundering with whatever mediocre coach we decided to hire instead.

CurryHicks breaking news was Virginia related. (Shaka Smart potentially interested in Virginia)

Weird, wonder why? Thought he was a Wisconsin guy and not like UVA has got a good NIL situation / kind of weird spot in the ACC / maybe academic requirements, probably higher than Marquette's?

Professional meatrider sounds like a legit source to me… lol.

Alum or not though, Dolson should’ve canned Woodson’s butt in February to eliminate any charades like this. I’m sure some idiots will believe this and use to to push their “IU fans are toxic” BS.

Between the NCAA and the FBI, somebody cared... and Wade got caught red-handed... you can't just explain that away...

Cheating is cheating. Period. Same goes for UNC, UCLA/Wooden/Gilbert, Kentucky, Kansas... who doesn't matter... one either has a moral compass or they don't. Clearly, I am in the minority here... but it's my take.

No need to continue talking about it.

While we are side barring, anyone remember IUBossFan from back in the day? I think that was his name…

Good dude, was a good poster. You should go read a thread from a month or so back about boards and how you got to BTB. Some of us old message board fantastic still roam around.

Yeah, I call BS... Dolson should have burned it to the ground... kicked his butt out in February so he could tend to these "threats".

If this actually happened. One one think the university would of had a press release saying the stalking and threats were being investigated and turned over to the Police. The university would of condemned that type of behavior.

I actually have no idea if they would do that. But it sounds good. IU employees chime in!!

So if we are down to 4 according to some (excluding Stevens for this conversation, and for some odd reason feel compelled to leave off Turgeon as well…..)  McDermott, Wade, McCollum, and Brownell, what is everyone’s preference here? They all bring something different, so I would be curious on what posters are thinking would be best for IU out of the group I listed.

**I’m not saying it’s actually down to those 4, but after today, just going off of some generalizations.**

It's got 1,600 views right now so I'm not sweating it. Posting it on this board probably doubled the views lol.

People are gonna spout off stupid **** like this about rival schools all the time... a troll in Louisville? Shocking

The media has been dragging the whole Woodson farewell tour, which I didn't realize he qualifies for...

I assume serious people who this would have any relevance toward would easily confirm it's BS and be unfazed.

They need to announce a coach ASAP, its getting torturous

In today’s day and age there is a trail if this was true which I doubt it is. It’s not like back 30-50 years ago and someone mailed you a letter with letters cut out saying whatever, usually it’s via the internet and they find them.

I think this though is nothing but someone throwing shade are way.

I guess we agree to disagree.
