The AD is 60. TJ is 47. They may have went to the same high school but I don’t think I’d qualify that as being buddies. So that alone makes me think this is all bogus.

yikes... ok, crossing my buddy off as a source... but I did warn you that the post was for S&G... he was full of S and now we G. :D

I think McDermott is great, and think he would do very well at IU. Having said that, he isn't 1 of the 5 names i heard about yesterday. Other names I didn't hear: Brownell, Buzz, or Cronin (which surprised me)

I'd be willing to bet that the 5 names you've heard have already been floated on this board, so you might as well share with the rest of the class!

If we are to take the post from "Jackal" as gospel (and really, why would we not? Ha) and there is a list of five that somehow was shared and Cronin, Buzz Williams, Greg McDermott and Brad Brownell are not on that list then my guess for the five would be:

1. Scott Drew, 2. TJ Otzelberger, 3. Tommy Lloyd, 4. Ben McCollum, 5. Will Wade as someone being heavily vetted by the search firm?

1. Richard Pitino 2. Chris Beard 3. Mark Few 4. Mark Turgeon 5. Tom Crean

Otz, Few, Drew would be three of my guesses. Jay Wright & Tony Bennett I would hope for, but doubt that has been discussed. Would be good with McConnell & Schertz being considered.

It amazes me game after game that teams allowed Malik to beat them inside.  He does the same things constantly.  Teams seem content on letting him get his at the rim.

Not sure it's the other team being content, more than Malik being a hard head.  He thinks he can go 5 on 1 most times.

I just got an email from a buddy who is involved in IU broadcast media... don't know how "connected" he might be, and just passing this on for S&G:

Seems like a reach to me... and no clue what experience Jamie Pollard (ISU AD) has to qualify him for the BB GM gig...

Well that's an interesting idea... Looks great!

If you let him do his thing he is good at it.  But no one ever seems to make adjustments and it is really good coaches.  Izzo and painter both just let him score.  Never changed anything.  And it isn't like Indiana can just kill you from the 3 pt line.  THen I would understand it more.

Hence the reason two wins for the Hoosiers.

Forgot about Lloyd and Wade... They would also be great. I do think we're going to get a coach who will win here this cycle.

Would be pretty surprised if in the course of basic due diligence they wouldn’t have at least made a cursory inquiry with McDermott and he probably waved them off. If so, good for him and move on down the road.
