But 71% the last two years. And the argument is that the last two years is more indicative of where things are going. He's doing so well this year, after losing four pretty big contributors after last year's Elite Eight team.
I've been lukewarm on Brownell the whole time, but I'm softening to the idea.
If you a great coach it doesn't take you 13 years to get these going. That hire would be so blah

The difference is that we allegedly (I do not have first hand knowledge) looked into Beard during the post-Archie Woody hire, BFORE the domestic violence accusation, and took a pass due to what we found out.

Louisville and UK looked into him after the dv accusation and passed.

I agree with others that he is not worth the risk. He is a very good coach but it’s not as though he has won 2 Natty’s.

That is the key to me. Beard is a good coach, but not outstanding. Regardless of his personal issues, IU can do better, IMO.
If Beard was a choir-boy with a spotless reputation he still isn't top tier.

Maybe not great but he has one more elite 8 and one more final four than iu has in the last 22 years. Let's hope we can do better but better to me us not the huss bus, mccollum, or bronwell.

I'm so damn tired of hearing this. NOBODY gives a rat's @$$ if he shows his faith. It's not that at all, stop gaslighting with this. It's the zealot aspect and fakeness that many people see. if you like him, great. Don't act like people are going after him because of faith though. That's just weak diarrhea of the mouth

I have seen this a few times, about him being fake. What does that mean?

People seem to believe that Behind the Bench saying “oh no…” is more definitive than Goodman reporting Stevens won’t be a candidate haha. And I’m not convinced Goodman’s tweet is definitive for the record. Just funny…

It's crazy. We have long-time, respected posters who share what they've heard and they get told they're full of it. Somebody who just registered a few weeks ago drops a cryptic post and people lose their minds.

I've read several critiques and articles that have implied that he portrays himself as super ethical and a true Christian, but a lot of people have said he's pretty sleazy underneath it. Not sure why I believe it, but I usually have a really good idea of someone's true personality.
