The past two seasons 8 of his losses were by 15+ and three of those eight were by 25+.

You could say that about pretty much every coach we’ve talked about.  Huge crow eating day if Stevens is hired.  Same if it’s a mid major coach that we turned out nose up at.

Kudos for giving a state university who not only would be paying him millions/year but trusting him to lead a program that brings in the amount of money that basketball does the benefit of the doubt in vetting a coach over reading a few articles on the internet and making assumptions.

This puts it in perspective for me....sucks that happened to you, but good way of looking at this scenario. I agree it's probably best to stay away from Beard because we don't have to hire him to get his level of results.

The Knight comment…..We need a reboot of this program.  Just ditch the past and move on.  It’s holding us back.  That’s my point.  No one should give two craps whether a coach is associated with Knight.  It shouldn’t even be a criteria.

Agree 100 percent. MAYBE you are willing to shell out a bit more for Drew (Because he's won a National title) but anyone else is gonna get top tier resources but are gonna need to also prove they can handle and deliver with those resources. BUT you do that like a final four type run? and at IU people would start writing checks left and right !

I'm hearing that Dolson has been having some serious behind-the-scenes talks with Chris Collins' representatives. 

Scott and the IU administration like that Collins is from a fellow B1G school, runs a clean program and has taken them to their first three NCAA tourneys. They think he can really prosper at IU with better NIL and easier admissions. And Collins thinks he'd be able to more at IU than at NW. 

Dolson, who knows his hoops, also thinks Collins' is a whiz when it comes to X's and O's. Plus, we just can't beat the guy, so we're looking to get him to join us. I wouldn't be surprised when Northwestern's season ends to hear an announcement of Collins to IU. 

OK, I completely made that up. Just trying to create a diversion from all this sordid Chris Beard debate. (BTW, I actually do think Collins would be a very good hire for IU).
