I just read on here that several college coaches could already have the IU job but it wouldn't be announced till their team was done playing in the tournament. How is that different with Brad? It seems a lot of people on this board try to hold him to a different standard than other candidates. Almost like some people on here would be upset if he is the guy.

I have heard many reasons why it would be kept quiet for now. But the one I will say is because I don't know that there has been anything signed as of today.

Because there is nothing stopping Brad from leaving the Celtics today, start putting together a staff, and begin scouting for the portal.  There’s no reason not to and zero reason for the Celtics to want him to stick around if he’s already leaving.  Guys like Drew, Beard, McCollum, etc still have teams to coach and are going dancing.  Night and day scenario.

The Celtics GM makes 1.5 million but I'm sure Brad makes more being President but no way he makes 11 LOL

$11M would make him the highest paid NBA exec, more than Pat Riley.  I highly doubt that.  $4-7M/yr or something like that makes more sense.

Why is McCollum the only candidate to have his own thread?

Because they locked the Ben McCollum thread I created four years ago. That could’ve lived on as a Ben McCollum watch party, fan club, and central clearing house for custom Ben McCollum t-shirts and coffee mugs, awareness for when he is in town for book signings and starting his own tequila brand, etc.

I saw him wearing it at the Michigan game in the concessions under the seats and thought it was Epps but wasn’t sure what Epps looked like.  Now I do lol.

It's actually not. IU can't introduce or officially hire a coach while Woodson is still coaching unless he signed off. He isn't going to do that. There's a reason Jerry gave the timeline he did.

I just can’t see any scenario whatsoever where he has already agreed to take the job but hasn’t informed the Celtics.  He would burn so many bridges.

And no, I’m not saying IU should’ve announced anything by now.  I would definitely expect something from the Celtics side.

Heck, in retrospect Baylor was trying to do us a favor by dissuading HP.

thanks . . . i've spent last few minutes rewatching Hanner's HS highlights on youtube - if only we ran the open dunk system, would have been a legend

I'm not suggesting there should be confirmation from Brad Stevens that he's taking the IU job or anything like that. I'm just wondering why there have not been any rumors or sourced information coming from the NBA or Boston Celtics insiders and everything concerning Brad Stevens has come from the IU side with the exception of the unconvincing Jeff Goodman tweet/story. I certainly would not be upset if he was the guy, far from it. Anyway, thanks for the information you share, as always!

Why am I getting this disgusting Purdue ad on my socials?

Its blasphemy

Because the disgusting scat porn you are watching is associated with Purdue fans. Do better.

I would not be upset at Scott Drew and think it's much more likely than the fantasy of Stevens (>0.1%)...... but still don't buy it. Drew seems settled at BU.
