That’s what I’m trying to figure out

Do you feel it's possible that Brad out respect & concern for Woodson & current players had that tweet put out to turn down the volume of a Steven's distraction?

Maybe BS got cold feet and scared of the challenge or maybe he is comfortable being a behind the scenes office boy in Boston.
anyways, I just hope we hire somebody that is fairly youthful and has a lot of passion and BB IQ!!

Wonder if the Celtics offered minor ownership? From my understanding, the company that owns the Celtics only owns like 52% of the organization and is only selling their portions of it. Seems like a similar solution again from the last time around.

So, assuming the Stevens ship has fully sailed and it’s not a smokescreen, what’s everyone’s top 3? These are mine:
- Dusty May
- Chris Beard (if fully vetted and IU feels he can succeed off the court. I’m fully aware this is an extreme long shot, but still in my top 3 if IU thinks he’s the guy)
- Bruce Pearl
I can see the Pearl ship sailing, but I think he would help make IU a national relevant program again before retiring. I think May is the most realistic of the top candidates, but we will see. I think he will do great things at IU, but curious to see how this all unfolds.

Love those three. Me personally (and before a select few attack me, it’s just my dream list)

Beard - always been my #1
Pearl - feel it has sailed, but at least call
Oats - never happen, but call anyways
May -

Color me shocked that Brad Stevens doesn’t want to coach college basketball. Shocked I tell you. Who saw it coming? Cannot believe people on this board fell for this BS for weeks/months. Shame on those who pushed this narrative.

Options:

-Overpay for Dusty May

-safe hire Ben McCollum

-get risky and advantageous and buyout Mick Cronin (would be very happy)

-be smart and hire Will Wade (home run)

Didn’t you the whole fing summer fall for Woody’s cooking? You wouldn’t shut up the whole effing summer. About how we needed dynamic guards and they were gonna shoot 40% and Mike Woodson will know how to play the inside outside game. You are insufferable poster shut the F up.

Last time I checked UCLA isn't in the Midwest

Thank you to Deshaun Foster for that knowledge and explaining it to us.

Cignetti is pushing Byington per Zagoria, if anyone cares

If we’re going down this road I would rather have Schertz or McCollum.

Is he pushing him, or did Dolson ask Cig about him because of their connection; and he gave him a positive review?  Pretty big difference, and I hope it's the latter, as the football coach should have no say or huge influence on the decision of a basketball coach.

Which is the baseline at UCLA. Not impressed. He would not elevate us at all.... plus his offense is boring.

If you are expecting a championship caliber team every year you probably will be disappointed. Even RMK had some seasons they weren't a championship caliber teams

For those wanting to shut down the Stevens discussion...I'd love to shut down the Cronin discussion.

Same,I know he's a decent coach but something about him rubs me the wrong way.

I've watched him through the years and I believe the abrasivness would wear thin rather quickly here Just like the strangeness did with crean.

With the salary we can offer and our NIL budget we should be able to hire a coach that can get us consistently into the tournament, with teams that frequently are favorites to make it to the second weekend, and at times put it all together for a championship run.
