A candidate who is not currently coaching.

Randy ********* Whitman!

It’s 2PM EST, it’s Randy Whitman hour boys and girls!

You don’t find it interesting that Hubie Brown “retired” from TNT just this week?

This is 100% correct. After last season he lost a lot of sources.
How in the world does hs make a living? Can't be many people left who pay for peegs anymore

This has been about 40 pages of pining for Brad Stevens. This is one starved fanbase.

I hope people aren’t sleeping on Dusty May. What he’s doing up in Ann Arbor is pretty impressive. Most schools in our position might not even get a top choice with that kind of profile. And I guess he’s our second choice.

It’ll be interesting to see who UNC zeros in on eventually. I don’t see any more Roy Williams types on the horizon. Good chance they don’t get a coach like May.

He can still tweet out little misleading "teasers" that get people to subscribe for disappointing information.

I am in the camp that believes Marshall has a ton to do with our shooting issues.  When I played in HS our coaches warned us that significant weight lifting would affect our shooting and we would need to put in twice the shooting work to maintain.  Also, it was heavily discourage during season.  Anytime you mess with the shooting motion ratio (including visual, muscle memory and strength) that its is going to affect your percentage/ability until your brain retrains itself and gets the ratio back in sync.  Now, that could be all BS, but I do know I shot worse immediately after nearly every single time, so I believe it from first hand experience.

Absolutely 100% true. The idea is to get to where you want to be and then maintain that as best you can. Changing in muscle mass, up or down, will affect your shooting. Once you're where you want/need to be you put in the reps needed daily to get dialed in.

Please talk to your doctor... A woody is not supposed to last that long!

Yet here we are, fours into a very painful Woody that we can't seem to get rid of!

This is why the vast majority of adding muscle is done during the offseason. So the player has time to acclimate through high quality and quantity of shooting drills under new weight.

Edit: We see this all the time when players struggle upon entering the program. Yogi Ferrell added significant mass and took time to get his shot used to his new muscle. The added mass was necessary for a player his size not to be pushed around. But it takes time and adaptation.

Exactly. Get there in the off season and practice practice practice. I agree completely.

It's why ... "arm days" don't happen for a D1 athlete, well any athlete.

But, some here are making it seem like they think lifting, even in-season, is a negative. That couldn't be any further from the truth. It's inarguable that "being strong" gives you the best advantage in being a better shooter/basketball player.

It seems like they think Clif has them doing bench press and barbell curls before a game or something lol

It's tough to move on because all the other coaches are coaching their teams right now. Their not available till end of March and the beginning of April.

In your opinion how long do you think it actually takes him to decide vs when it gets leaked compared to the two week timeline?

Yeah, body part splits are not done at the collegiate level. Hell, they shouldn't even be done at the high school level but many small high schools don't have access to appropriate coaching. Strength training and conditioning are still done in season but to maintain the muscle that was added in the off-season.

small high school here, thankful our head football coach was the real deal in the weight room, we didn't split body parts. Lifted 6 times a week in the offseason though... tough tough program.

14-15yr olds that are HS FR playing JV/FR football are a little different than the needs of D1 basketball players in a 40-game season, but yes, generally, I agree.

I dont get the brad bronwell love. Take away last year plus this year and he is unimpressive.
If you take out this year his conference record is 128-126. Barely .500. Right now just sounds like a flavor of the month guy

His record has improved as the ACC has gotten steadily awful.

Good questions that I'm not sure I know the answer to. I think he already has a good idea already what he wants to do. How long before it gets leaked after signing the paperwork? My guess is not long

Which makes it even more ridiculous that he took the word of guys within the program with major character flaws and went with the hit piece on a now former assistant coach a few years ago. But that's another story...

He took a gamble on which side to go with.  Woody was coming off his first year where he got IU back to tourney so it was still unknown about Woodys future.  Fife was just an assistant.  Rabbys job depends on access. I’m guessing most in his spot would go with the school and head coach to keep his  access flowing.    Fast forward 2 years and he does a hit piece on the head coach as well thinking he would be gone after last year.    He chose wrong and has said he has talked  and had dinner with Fife and talked it out
