Mike ******** Woodson!

Took four years to get the Hawks over .500!

Four years from now we'll be tied for 7th in the B1G with a first round exit in the Big Ten Tourney!

Sounds familiar. Then we will really just be grasping for straws because how ugly it could get will run away any chance of a decent coach seeing the fan base turn on Woodson.

Get over the age thing. I get it, you’re a young coach and you will get your shot. IU can’t take a shot at a you g guy after the last experience. Needs to be someone seasoned that can handle this big of a job. This isn’t Penn St basketball.

It's not the age thing for me. Age is never a thing for me. Hell, I want John Belien. HE'S THE OLDEST FART!

It's his lackluster resume, it's his no experience in college basketball, it's his zero experience in recruiting. We can't find someone with a better resume??

I rather have Thad Matta and the board knows how much I'm against Thad.

Do you know why we skipped them? I would be incredibly disappointed in Dolson if he didn’t do everything he could to land one of them.

Based on the names that have leaked so far, I am not entirely sure that a current college-level head coach is the direction Dolson wants to go. That's hugely complicated by the tournament preventing contact of course, but it just hasn't been part of the conversation at all. Probably means it's guaranteed to happen!

There is no guarantee that any coach will do better or worse, even Brad Stevens.. It's always a gamble. That's why you interview. You try to get a feel for who can be the most successful in the job.

Trust the process. It will be ok.

The guy who just won the big ten had zero experience with recruiting or experience in coaching college basketball

He did have experience, sadly.

How dare you insult Steve Novak like that! He's basically a step-brother to this program.

In all seriousness though, look at this squad. A bunch of knuckleheads and guys multiple years past their primes. The fact they not only were a cohesive team but won 54 games and made it to the conference semi-finals is a complete miracle.

That lineup isn’t nearly as bad as you’re making it out to be. Carmelo is a first ballot hall of famer and was in the middle of his prime. Tyson Chandler was a year removed for DPOY. JR Smith was a knucklehead but he was very talented. And they were playing in a weak conference.

Regardless of what happens, he'll always be a part of the Indiana family.

Oldie, but a goody!

Looking it up, Mike Woodson coached an IU basketball legend.

And they lost to better teams so I’m not quite sure what the complaint is

Jason Kidd was pretty good too :-)

Tom Allen is 24-25 as a HC, he can't even produce a winning percentage with the top 5% of high school football players in the world and has never won a B1G championship or a bowl game, why did he get an extension?

His resume doesn't stick out at all.

Hey look, I can do it too!!

This is probably the best comparison. If you start with a lousy product and improve it over time, you are a good coach. Period.

Technically speaking, Allen has only had two winning seasons at IU... I think we would all now agree that he is the IU football coach by divine right.
