We are. I’d be thrilled if it were him. I am not saying it’s 0% chance it’s Stevens because you have been right before about things… but I don’t think anybody except Dolson and a very small number of people know for sure. GP literally has no track record here then called someone brain dead for questioning him... Since then all he does is post weird smiley faces. And posting all those white smoke gifs this morning but not being able to say who it is, but we know it’s done and they’re really great, just doesn’t make much sense… seems like people getting set up to disappoint themselves again. To each their own, would love to be wrong. In the event we do sign Stevens, I still don’t think GP or behind the bench know a single thing and are doing anything but having fun playing pretend.
If it is stevens your opinion is irrelevant and those guys are getting massive props. You may be right they may not know anything but still they deserve their due imo

Are you aware this happens all the time and contracts are made with contingencies for when it does?

No. I’m not in this particular industry. But I have significant dealing in contracts in general.  I don’t know that I agree with your application of contingency, but again, I’m not a sports agent and not in the industry.

Coaching candidates aside, what style of ball do we prefer?

Fast paced run and gun or more slow methodical lock down on defense? Does a slower pace appeal to top level recruits?

You could probably find a dozen “you don’t pay $10 million to fire Archie to hire Mike Woodson” posts in this very thread from March 2021. Yet that’s exactly what IU did. Just think about whatever decision a well-run program would make and then take the opposite of that if you want to figure out IU’s next move.

Yep, they hired Woodson because he played here forever ago then gave him a 1mil to raise just for making the tournament.

It's IU, basketball is king so people are more likely to meddle with that hire than football.

Winning ball. Period.
