Pitino isn't going to leave NY, but he is 72 years old.

I would hope that IU isn't going to "retire" a 66 year old coach and hire a 72 year old coach. LOL

in all fairness, IU didn't retire their 66 year old coach because of his age....if he were 72 and had the drive and coaching skills of a Pitino, he'd have a job here as long as he wanted it....so it's not necessarily outside the realm of possibility to retire a 66 year old to hire a 72 year old....not that I think they would

The more I read and hear about McCollum I say sign him up and let him do his job. On the basketball court he will be better than most of the candidates on here. If we have all of this money put it towards getting the best staff available and administrators to do the portal.  If college basketball is becoming like professional sports then build a pro organization.

With all due respect Mr R, and I am glad you are back here sincerely, but I feel like you just post the same thing over and over again.  We heard you the 39 other times you said this.  You do not think IU is getting a big name person.   What good does it do to come here and constantly claim the same things?

How is that unlike every poster on here

From everything that has been said about Dolson on how he is keeping everything quiet and no one is talking then where does these rumors come from.  A lot of them are probably coming from agents who has agendas and getting their clients raises. If Dolson is keeping this quiet then most rumors are probably bogus.
I know you're tired of rehashing the same old stuff with Stevens. But you gotta admit, it's way more entertaining of a wait if we have these ups and downs of potential information leaks, even if they are only 5% or less true and factual. People thrive on hope....a chance (mixed in with some drama). The alternative kind of becomes a boring conversation about boring candidates.

So, you are saying most of the information on here is not true.  What the heck....

That is a fair response.  I do not keep a running tally of who posts what here, but it is pretty easy to know what is coming every time your name pops up.  Maybe try for some new material every once in awhile?  Throw in a joke.  Maybe a funny gif (like the peanut butter).   We all know your feelings on this search and when/if things work out like you think then by all means hold receipts and spike the football.

I'm saying 18-13 at SLU isn't some novel success story. Rick Majerus won there. Jim Crews won 27 and 28 games there. Travis Ford won 20+ games 4 times in 8 years there. If Schertz can put together a couple of seasons where he's pushing 30 wins and winning A-10 titles, I'd move him up on my list if the job opens up 4-5 years down the road.

If I could make a bet, I would. I actually know SLU basketball a little too well.

Majerus was a coaching genius. Crews rode the Majerus wave. Ford followed Crews, had an early recruiting push, but was regressing and last year completely washed out. For SLU to be this good already is incredible. Even with what they lose, I am willing to bet they will get better the next couple years. They'll have a chance at those wins and titles, and to have their metrics place them in the top-25, which is rare for an A10 team. Good times ahead for SLU fans!

Folks realize that absolutely nothing will be announced or leaked until IU’s season is over (and if we hire a current coach until his season is over), right?

If Elon Musk asks you to name five things you did this week, make sure it’s not just speculate on BTB :)

Haha my 5 things for the week didn't include BTB, but in all honesty it was my most time-saturated duty
