Stuhoo Posted June 9, 2023 Posted June 9, 2023 Mulcahy at UK with his barely okay jump shot and cheap shot personality, paired with a team of me-first freshmen would be must see tv. go iu bb Posted June 10, 2023 Posted June 10, 2023 It sounds like it might be a while before we find out if Reeves plans to transfer or not. He's taking summer classes needed to graduate but some think that he will transfer. The classes he's taking are through ISU so it seems like he's intent on graduating soon since he wouldn't have enough UK credits to graduate there. https://www.on3.com/college/kentucky-wildcats/news/kentucky-insider-shares-latest-on-status-of-antonio-reeves/ Quote

Would be hard to do both in just a single year if you weren’t strategic. It may be possible to get a waiver for one or both of those rules depending on institutional/departmental policy and/or state law. Could imagine a vindictive program trying not to allow that but it’s a decision for academic staff/faculty, not the athletic dept./program. All of which might explain taking summer classes at your old school (as would simple scheduling/housing needs, online options, or finding it easier to transfer credit out of UK than in, etc.). Illinois State doesn’t list a summer graduation date, which probably just means they don’t have a ceremony; I’m sure any institution of that size does award degrees in summer. But I assume that means Reeves wouldn’t graduate and thus be eligible to start somewhere new as a grad transfer, until mid-August. RaceToTheTop and Home Jersey 2 Quote

I know a lot of schools have two different summer sessions where you can get a course done in a five week or so period taking the course for quite a few hours each week, but according to Illinois State's website they have a single summer session which ends on August 9th and grades aren't posted until the next week. If he's taking classes at Illinois State, he has to be paying for them since his scholarship is at UK......I can't envision a scenario where he would be taking courses at Illinois State without the intent of being a grade transfer. And although he can't enter the portal until then, there is no doubt that by then both he and the school he would be transferring to would already know it. 8bucks and lillurk 2 Quote
Popular Post BGVille Hoosierfan Posted June 11, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 11, 2023 Indiana has someone very connected with Reeves and has a big advantage communicating through back channels. Reeves will absolutely be transferring but it may be a bit before he announces a decision as to where. My understanding is that he is making sure academics are taken care of to make sure he can graduate and then transfer as a grad transfer. We have a current player along with someone connected with Reeves that has been in communication and been FaceTiming with him and can say we will very much have a real chance here. It sounds like Woody and Juwan may be squaring up in the ring on this one. hoosierfan6157, go iu bb, thebigweave and 9 others 9 3 Quote

Popular Post Home Jersey Posted June 11, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 11, 2023 I haven't done a ton of research on Reeves because I've been waiting for an official transfer announcement first. Based on the last few posts, decided to look at his UK highlights... holy cow. If we land Reeves or Wilcher next year is going to be scary for the rest of the Big 10. Reeves probably is the better prospect in terms of next year's roster. Hart would be a very solid pick up too, albeit not the same level. Love that we're concerned about how landing Wilcher (a former top 10 recruit and current top 40 guy) would impact getting the top prospect and another stud in 2024. Don't think we're going to see any Jeremiah Aprils on the IU roster with Woody and staff here. Just completely awesome work by them this offseason.
