Lots of schools have access to lots of money. Those that want to win find a way. I’m not surprised to hear Maryland going all out. Willard/Maryland NIL game seems pretty strong. Is that recycled UA money? Or other big perks? Quote

Seemed like 2 mill was top per player but now it’s seeming that might not be the ceiling. 6 figures seem like a standard power 5 number. And then all the in between. 13 scholarships. What did Ryan Day say he needed for OSU football? 13 million? 17? If power 5 schools are paying coaches 3-10 mil and then spending close to a mil in recruiting budget you can start to imagine where the moneyline might be. Quote

The universities are not paying for NIL. However, and this is a big "however," this booster contribution effort does drain the ability of a university to get direct contributions from those boosters. The boosters aren't an unlimited funding source for all initiatives. But, if a booster wants to contribute to the Hunter Dickinson NIL collective, the university doesn't have a lot of power to tell boosters not to. lillurk and go iu bb 2 Quote

I like your optimism but you speak it as fact. I think that’s just your opinion. Correct me if I’m wrong. My opinion is we are long shots. It’s clear Adidas wants him from his list of schools. The question is does he want Adidas and how much are they offering. All of the schools on his list have NIL. This is in regards to Mgbako and I know this isn’t the thread. so back on topic I think there is a much greater reason to be optimistic about other players in the portal. I really like Dingle and hope that we are able to land him. I think other intriguing name over the next week would be Miles Kelly. He hasn’t entered the portal. Declared for draft but from what I can tell isn’t listed as a top prospect. Georgia Tech has had a coaching change and roster has turned over a ton. Ya connection to Georgia. Shot 38% on over 7 3’s/game. Listed in GT website as 6’6 175. Point being I think we fill the last 2 spots from the portal. So many things will happen between now and May 11 when the portal “closes” imo cthomas, HoosierAloha, Tom White and 3 others 4 1 1 Quote
