Chris007 Posted March 29, 2023 Posted March 29, 2023 One thing that is worrisome this spring is how much time is our head coach going to put in this spring talking, texting, and zooming with players on nice afternoons. Not to try to make a big deal about it but on a day like today which isn't great outside but you will find Woody, Armond Hill, and Scott May all at Pfau golf course playing 18 and smoking cigars. Is he really going to put in the work that a 45-year-old Musselman, Oates, or whoever is going to? That is the part that scares me. MemphisHoosier, thebigweave, dwtaylor1055 and 3 others 3 2 1 Quote

I think if his leisure time interfered with work, he would have stopped coaching a long time ago. str8baller 1 Quote

We've lost recruits because they feel like they are only being recruited by the assistants at IU. I love Woody but I know he loves his golf. ISP, thebigweave, Banksyrules and 3 others 4 1 1 Quote

Someone on Twitter claiming we’re recruiting Keshon Gilbert of UNLV. Any info about that? Quote

That’s right, I think you mentioned that a while back. My apologies. Hard to keep them all straight and actually get any work done, lol. Chris007 1 Quote

He’s twice the size of Musselman, so by my calculation he only has to do half the work. Chris007 1 Quote

In the NBA you get a long offseason that, for the most part, is a true offseason. In college you end one season and then a new season of recruiting starts right after. Even more so now with the portal. I’m also worried that he doesn’t have the energy levels of some of his younger competitors. He seems kind of low e. Chris007 1 Quote

When do we finally shut down the ridiculous Furst fantasy? Mostly an IU fan created rumor but I did watch the game with some local Badger fans last night and they were ripping him for his lousy second half of the season. That narrative mostly started after the paper put an article on the front page sort of blaming him for having some bad games. It was kind of odd, and I wouldn’t have been surprised if it pissed him off. Everyone is different and he may be the type of guy to just ignore that kind of stuff. I don’t know what the NIL opportunities are up here but you’d have to think he’d be the type of home state kid that could cleanup by transferring to a place like IU. Obviously all that is speculation, but I foresee that type of speculation to be the norm from here on out in the new world of the portal and NIL. Quote
