IU - Kaulie Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 It took Pitino less than a year from his hiring date to get back to March Madness while we continue to wait on Archie. Some guys can coach. Some guys can’t. Gahoosierfan, Alford Bailey and Feathery 3 Quote

IUHAHN81 Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Am I alone in not being over the moon with the Archie hire but even with not being excited, never thinking we'd be as bad as we have been? I thought he'd at least having us making the tourney! jonz44 and NOLA Hoosier 2 Quote
Jam Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 I admit that I thought Archie was the best AVAILABLE hire at the time. So disappointed it hasn’t worked out. MemphisHoosier 1 Quote

Hoosierfan2017 Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Even Patrick Ewing is going to the NCAA tournament this year and he’s been terrible. Fourth year at Georgetown and they won the Big East tournament. Four wins in four days while we haven’t won four in a row all season. MemphisHoosier 1 Quote
Magnanimous Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 Whoever the next coach is, there needs to be some baseline incentive built into the contract that if you, for example, don't have a winning conference record in three years your buyout drops by 50% at that point. This crap can't be allowed anymore from the get-go. Parakeet Jones and Josh 2 Quote

Like, it’s honestly hard to be as bad as IU has been without actively trying to **** up. Alford Bailey and IUHAHN81 2 Quote

Yeah, I don't feel the need to be revisionist on this. I have no doubt that if Ohio State had hired first, Miller would have been chosen over Holtmann. I mean, go to the Rupp Rafters board and see their opinion of the hire: despite their hatred of IU, they felt it was a really good hire. Even if you preferred one of the coaches over Miller at the time, most thought the difference in their projected success was very small. The fact that it didn't work out that way doesn't change that perception. cappymo14, pumpfake, HoosierDYT and 1 other 4 Quote

tortex28 Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 So are we taking it as a good sign or a bad sign that there's been no news on the Archie front yet?Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk Quote
Honkyman Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 If Archie is canned it won't happen before the tournament is over or almost over. If he is staying, there will be some kind of announcement of support sooner. If Archie is allowed to stay, he will be given an ultimatum. Quote
Popular Post Josh Posted March 14, 2021 Popular Post Posted March 14, 2021 We're paying Archie $9,000 today. He's made $27,000 since he lost to Rutgers. Make it stop! MemphisHoosier, IUc2016, tortex28 and 5 others 8 Quote
