Popular Post mdn82 Posted December 7, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 7, 2019 This kid just competes in a way I think gets him on the floor early. His defensive upside is phenomenal. Think we're going to like this kid and the results of his having that mentor. HinnyHoosier, Napleshoosier, IUsafety and 2 others 5 Quote

He’s got a great frame, maybe he grows into an OG type. Anunoby would have been a monster in Miller’s system. Hutch89 and mdn82 2 Quote

Popular Post Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 12, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 12, 2019 Getting info on Geronimo's road games may be a problem. The only thing I've been able to find on yesterday's game is the following tweet from St. Paul's: St. Paul's down 14 at the half, made 2 comebacks in the 2nd half, cutting the lead to 1 twice. Just couldn't close out against tough, smart, and well-coached Nobles squad. Proud of the way our guys fought. Need to get better tomorrow. Fortunately, it looks like most of his home games will be streamed with his next game on Saturday the 14th at 3:30 ET via LiveStream. You'll have to register for access but it doesn't cost anything. https://www.sps.edu/athletics/livestream-schedule Demo, IUc2016, HoosierAloha and 7 others 10 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 New England Recruiting Report on Class A Schools - St. Paul’s School – Jordan Geronimo provides head coach Max Gordon with an elite athlete and physical specimen who has improved at a rapid rate within the last year and may just be scratching the surface of his potential. Geronimo committed to Indiana following a breakout spring and summer and now returns to be the catalyst for St. Paul’s. He’s surrounded a young, but talented, supporting cast. The class of 2021 features Jack Anderson, Cody Appleton, and Elijah White in the backcourt along with 6’10” big man Graham Robinson up front and Clifton Goode on the wing. The class of 2022 features James Morakis and Tola Olorode. IUsafety and HoosierAloha 2 Quote

Just couldn't close out against tough, smart, and well-coached Nobles squad. Proud of the way our guys fought. Need to get better tomorrow. Finally found the following regarding the above game and I believe I've found a site that will provide these kinds of summaries throughout the season. Dec. 12, loss to Noble & Greenough - Tonight, St. Paul’s School traveled to play a tough Nobles team. Although Big Red made some impressive plays in the first half, Nobles came out on fire, and expanded their lead to 14 points, going into half ahead of SPS 32-18. St. Paul’s played with grit and determination from the opening bucket in the second half and completely erased a 14-point deficit in less than six minutes. SPS had Nobles on the ropes throughout most of the second half, but missed some free throws and follow-up buckets down the stretch and couldn’t close out the game, eventually trailing by 12 points at the final buzzer. Jordan Geronimo took charge of the boards on both ends of the court, with an impressive 15 total rebounds and three blocked shots. Jack Anderson pulled down six rebounds and Clif Goode also played tough inside with four rebounds, followed by Graham Robinson with three rebounds. Big Red’s hustle and team synergy resulted in 11 assists and 4 steals for the night. James Morakis led team scoring with 19 points, including a perfect 11 for 11 from the free throw line. Cody Appleton hit four clutch 3-pointers for 12 points, Jordan Geronimo knocked down 7 points, Clif Goode hit a 3-pointer, followed by Graham Robinson and Tola Olorode with two points each. The following is from their Dec. 7, season opening win. St. Paul’s School kicked off its season opener tonight with an exciting win against a persistent Belmont Hill Class A team. From the opening tipoff, the lead exchanged hands several times and Big Red went into the half up by only one point 34-33. Throughout the entire game SPS played with full court energy, stopping several fast break layups. Big Red’s defense on the boards was impressive, with several intimidating blocks led by Graham Robinson and Jordan Geronimo with 4 blocks each. As the second half was winding down and still on the wire, Cody Appleton hit a clutch 3-pointer to add an insurmountable cushion to close out the win. James Morakis played an aggressive game on both sides of the ball, driving for several contested layups. Jordan Geronimo dominated the paint on offense, including one move past four defenders, finishing with an amazing shot. Jack Anderson crashed the boards for several rebounds and made several clutch stops. Elijah White contributed with grit and high energy hustle, moving the ball down the floor and causing several turnovers. Conor Dunleavy and Parker McQuarrie played big under the basket, setting screens and mixing it up on the boards. Jordan Geronimo led the team in scoring with 23 points, including three 3-pointers, and 6 for 8 from the free throw line. James Morakis made several dazzling drives and scored 14 points, followed by Jack Anderson with 7 points and Cody Appleton with two 3-pointers. Elijah White also stuck a 3-pointer, and other players scored two points each including Graham Robinson, Parker McQuarrie, and Clif Goode. Class of '66 Old Fart Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Watched St. Paul's lose 80-60 to Thayer. St. Paul's second loss of the season and my initial reaction is that overall St. Paul's is not an overly talented team. Lots of TOs many unforced. They play man-to-man defense and not particularly well. Couple of interesting items from tonight's game. They play 16 minute halves; use a 30-second shot clock and only had 2 referees. It's also always funny to see out-of-state varsity level gyms that are smaller than most of Indiana's middle school gyms. Geronimo finished with 10 pts. on 4-12 FG; 1-5 on 3s; 1-1 FT; 7 reb; 1 TO. He picked up his 3rd foul with 3:30 left in the first half on a really dumb backcourt reach-in foul. He can dribble/drive to the bucket and I thought ran the floor fairly well. Lateral quickness is a question mark as he got beat off the dribble on several occasions. When he wasn't in the game, he was a real cheer leader from the bench for the players on the court. This is only the first time I've seen him play but I thought I noticed a drift to his left on his 3-point jump shot. It's possible he was ejected with 1:00 left in the game. There was a scrum and I didn't see an official give him the heave ho, but he left the gym and didn't go through the handshake line. There was no play-by-play with the game stream so no way to know for certain what happened. WayneFleekHoosier, IUsafety and HoosierAloha 3 Quote
