Cross is a 6’7” wing that can probably play some 4. Maybe Geronimo is option 2 for Cross if it appears Cross is leaning South.

Not a true replacement player but it makes you wonder.

I don’t see how he would be a replacement for him. They are very different players. Geronimo doesn’t play on the blocks ever and has a very slender build. Cross seems more like a Morgan type of a player that will work inside and be more of a spot up shooter. Geronimo highlights he looks to always create like Green. We are gonna have a lot of wings.

What strikes me?   If he goes to the right game, Assembly Hall will seem like the biggest, loudest arena in the country.  Any questions on why Indiana Basketball is special?   Take a look at these high school gyms he's used to.  (His game reminds me of someone.......)

Wow, I get that it’s a highlight reel but you can see enough to know he’s a solid basketball player (not just athlete). He’s got length, a quick jumper, hustle, and good instincts. From the highlights, he’s a top 50 player.

I was thinking along the same lines. The kid plays with a mindset that no one is going to stop him from getting to the rim when he decides he wants to get there. There's a level of scrap and aggressiveness there that I like. He's got the athleticism (and seemingly, the skills) to combine with that and make him a constant threat on both sides of the ball.

Cross is being recruited as a 4. People asked scouts if Galloway and Leals commitment would effect Cross and they all said it wouldn’t effect him because they play different positions.

Yeah, this guy is next for me on the list of prospects we have a shot with. Watching his tape, he has all the tools to be a difference maker. Reminds me of Mikal Bridges from Villanova

At the same stage, going into their senior year of high school, I see Geronimo having a better shot. It’s slow but it seems to go in. Oladipo looked like an athlete playing basketball for awhile until his skill caught up with his ability.

Jordan Geronimo  entered his last month on the travel circuit without a single high-major scholarship offer. He was nowhere to be found not only within the Rivals150 but also within the small forward positional rankings. That has changed entirely.

The 6-foot-6 senior put on a show at his stops in Birmingham, Ala., and Ladera Ranch, Calif. He made shots with consistency, displayed explosive athleticism on the finish attempt, defended a variety of positions, and showed the burning desire to compete on each possession. Those type of assets in one particular prospect earned him inclusion into the Rivals150 and has also made him a priority for some of the better programs nationwide.

After taking a step back to relax and assess his recruitment, Geronimo has scheduled three official visits for the coming weeks. He will begin his visit tour at Indiana (Aug. 30), before heading to Georgia (Sept. 21) and then to Boston College (Sept. 27).

Geronimo is still undecided on where he will spend his two other official visits. He holds offers from Penn State, Providence, Texas A&M, UConn, VCU, Xavier and West Virginia, but it does seem that a signing is in line for November for the top July breakout performer.

FYI as Evans didn't elaborate - checking the Rivals site he is 135 nationally.

We need players for the point, guys that can shoot, and a couple of rim protectors. We seem to be reasonably well-stocked on that front for the next few years.

After that, we just plain old need good, hyper-competitive basketball players. Jordan Geronimo obviously fits into that category in the staff's eyes.

Is it me, or is it 'not unlikely' that this is the type of recruitment that could go quickly, even including coming to a conclusion during one of the official visits?

This does feel like a Crean recruitment if I’ve ever seen one. The kid won’t have enough time to figure him out which works nicely in his favor
