Hey Wayne,

The main issue with some of the negative posters is the insane amount of posts they make over and over without providing anything else. I’m all for positive and negative views, but you can’t keep going crazy negative or positive like some are. That’s were I can’t stand some posters. Hope you are well man :)

Yeah, I don’t disagree. Some of the negative stuff is preposterous. Some of the positive
Stuff is for the dreamers.

I get it, it’s more fun to expect/hope for good things and find the silver lining.

Ive always been a person to be objective despite my loyalties in all things.

I don’t fashion myself as negative at all, but I’m certain others do. I can tell you one thing, when our results and expectations merit positivity, I’ll be the flag waving cheerleader leading the pack.

I was initially underwhelmed by the Archie hiring but then bought in full boat when he put his staff together and started landing primary targets and talking about real basketball versus cliche creanisms.

He’s been less than impressive so far on the court and recruiting seems to be taking an entirely different approach with “lesser” results.

Who knows, maybe it’ll all work out. I’m certainly hoping it does.

Love your objectivity. Your a good middle ground that calls it pretty accurately imo.

No you didn’t call me that but I would say 90 percent of the posters not the posts themselves that are called negative are in fact just being objective.

I honestly don’t know why but I just never got any social media accounts. I know I am the outlier but most everything I care to see or read is already somewhere. I always get yelled at from family members to get on Facebook. Always seemed like too much drama for me.

Ha, I am far from it. I lucked into the outcome that came from that decision. MySpace was around when I was in college, and Facebook had started when I was getting my MBA. Honestly during my internship a couple of my buddies were going through interviews same time as me and posted things on Facebook that Eli Lilly saw where they wouldn’t hire them. From that point on I figured it was best to not potentially get caught up in things like that, because I probably would post insensitive things for some and have to deal with the drama. I have had a cell phone with the same number since my sophomore year in high school in ‘98. The people I want to talk to know how to get at me when they want.

It’s all how you use it but it can absolutely cause a lot of trouble in personal and professional relationships. I can’t recall the last time I posted something to Facebook. However, it’s absolutely awesome to look up old coworkers/bosses to get recommendations or job openings. Also, it’s cool when traveling when you have acquaintances all over the world.

Because people whine that I am negative at least once a day when I am active on the board. But even you just asserted I was being negative at times while I would argue I am being realistic.

Well, when I support that JayBob was not posting about you being overly negative and I state that I agree with his assessment that you aren't and your takeaway is to focus on someone calling you negative and me saying you were 'negative at times'....you aren't exactly helping your case.

In terms of anyone saying they are 'being realistic'........I guess I don't get the point of anyone saying that.  Pretty everyone outside of trolls thinks that what they are posting is realistic, regardless of whether other people view them as negative or positive.

So what's the deal with Vijay? I know he's a good shooter and I would have expected him to see more action last year considering the glaring lack of shooters on our team. I know defense wasn't a real big priority with the Blackmon boys in HS so maybe that has kept him off the floor, but I would think his offensive abilities would make up for that.

He was a part time starter at an NAIA school.  I wouldn't say his offensive abilities would have gotten him on the floor.  Probably pretty telling that he entered the transfer portal but didn't find anything attractive enough to keep him from coming back to IU and not getting on the court.

Trayce is a big kid. Archie said at the winery thing that arriving last week he measured at 6'9 3/4" in shoes, 245. That weight is carried in the "center of power" too. 

 

In case you cant tell, that's Trayce next to Dale Davis, who banged against the best of them. 

 

Also, it shouldn't go unnoticed how Trayce has interacted with Indiana fans. Hes 100% behind the program. Recruits all those other guys (unsuccessfully) on social media. Now posts pics of he and Armaan saying "best friend." And with 1/10th the fanfare of Romeo. To me he's an A+ on how he's handled it so far. Armaan seems like a great kid too.

Someone mentioned last year that TJD would be the most important recruit to Archie’s success, even more so than Romeo. In hindsight this was a bold prediction. But I 100% agree with it now. Trayce will be a multi year force down low and unwavering supporter of the IU program

Idk if he's shrunk, or if the old measurements weren't quite accurate, or what, but Trayce's dad is listed everywhere as 6'11. And Trayce is clearly taller than his dad now.

Side note: I went to one of the Pacer's playoff games when they were playing the Knicks at MSA back in the day. We got there early enough that we went court side while they were warming up. I could not believe how much bigger Dale and Antonio Davis (along with Smits) were in person than they appeared on TV. That was when The Knicks had Anthony Mason and Ewing. There were some big dudes beating on each other in that game.

I agree. I'm predicting he is the Big Ten FOY and All-Big Ten/All-American good his sophomore year.

Exactly the kind of kid Archie needs. Those who are all-in and want to get better. I get having NBA dreams, but you have to put in work to get there.
