Naturalhoosier Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 I've seen this mentioned a couple time in various threads but each time it's been buried. Deserves a thread of it's own imo. https://www.wfyi.org/news/articles/iu-president-mcrobbie-could-be-candidate-for-georgia-tech-president BtownStrength, mamasa and Napleshoosier 3 Quote

BtownStrength Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Isn't Mcrobbie nearing retirement age? Would he take a new job this late in his career? I hope I am wrong in thinking he wouldn't. I think I remember someone saying that he was retiring in 2020 but not sure how much truth there was in that. Hutch89 1 Quote
Popular Post Walking Boot of Doom Posted January 18, 2019 Popular Post Posted January 18, 2019 I’ve learned of at least one high profile event for IU he was supposed to headline that is now off the schedule... don’t think I’d be too upset if he moved on. Honestly, I really like what Purdue’s president has been doing. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mdn82, IUsafety, 8bucks and 5 others 8 Quote

Hoosierfan2017 Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Why do people dislike McRobbie? I haven't really heard anything bad about him and the school seems to be doing well under him. Napleshoosier 1 Quote
mdn82 Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Just be wary; sometimes it's better to dance with the devil you know.Yeah about the only instance I would feel good about this is if the next guy comes in wanting to “Make IU Great Again”. It seems the further we get away both academically and athletically from our golden period the less the admin cares. The median GPA for last year's entering freshman class tied the record from the previous year, and the average test score was the second highest in school history, behind only the year before it. IU is bringing in better classes than ever before and they're doing all kinds of renovations/new constructions. thebigweave and BtownStrength 2 Quote

It's in the quality of student you put out. woodenshoemanHoosierfan 1 Quote
TheWatShot Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 IMO, if you're going to have a football program as sh*tty as ours, you'd better make up for it by either having a world-class basketball program or being academically superior to most of your conference brethren. We have neither. I hope he leaves. Quote
Dalton26 Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 I see a lot of people hammer Glass, but I truly think the blame for our athletics falls directly on the shoulders of McRobbie. Str8Hoosiers, Napleshoosier, purehank@hotmail.com and 3 others 6 Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Indiana needs to improve dramatically as an academic institution, especially at the price point they charge. Purdue has frozen its tuition rates while providing an overall higher quality academic product. However, the renovations occurring around the campus are excellent and desperately needed.
