IU Hoosier41

RIP - Terry Hutchens - 1958-2018

Recommended Posts

From what I heard, Dakich let it slip that it was a seizure despite the fact that the family of Hutch asked for the details not to be given to the public. Classic, disrespectful Dakich.

That's basically what his wife posted on Facebook. Sounds like he had a medical condition that caused him to pass out which led to the accident.
Interestingly when I told someone in my family who is a doctor what happened they said there was no way he could of passed out from an accident at that speed and he thought he had some medical condition before the crash.
Good call by you and an expert medical professional who knew nothing about the accident other than what was read in the newspaper.
Really Hoping Terry recovers and wish him and his family the best.
This was my thought after reading the article. Prayers

Wow.  Prayers for Hutch, a guy gifted with a knack for making everybody feel like an important part of a very wide circle of friends in the IU and Indy sporting communities.  Look at the names tweeting get well wishes, and then think of how he spoke with you here and elsewhere, just one of the guys.

This is patently untrue and inaccurate.

He wants IU too be great again. He’s tired of the administration making terrible decisions and his alma mater being a shell of its former self which he feels partly responsible for the brand that was built.

I truly believe that Dakich, to his very core, loves IU.
However, he gets paid to talk a lot, and to fill that talk with strong opinions. Sometimes those opinions are ill-conceived and ill-expressed.

He gets called a homer all the time and you can tell it affects him. He tries to sometimes overcompensate in his takes in order to shed this label.

I vote we get this topic back to its initial intention. That's wishing Terry the best and praying and hoping he will recover from this and be back doing what he loves -- covering the Hoosiers.

Prayers and thoughts to Terry and the Hutchens family.

IMO, that this has gotten off track is disrespectful. I've got no problem discussing former coaches and their love/hate of IU and whatever else -- just not on this thread. Take it elsewhere.

And on this, I agree with him 100%
