Popular Post reconmkd Posted January 31, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 31, 2018 I like how the sky is falling and IU is going to be a bottom dweller forever after a game that we were expected to lose![emoji849] I mean really people I don't think their is a coach is the world that could get this team to perform consistently! I for one am happy at the progress that Archie has made with the players that are still teachable! I mean think about how difficult it would be to take team that has never put any effort or had any accountability on defense and get them to where they are now. In the last 10 years have we EVER played defense, had a successful inbounds play, beat a zone defense, or executed any type of half court offense that didn't involve excessive dribbling or a shot clock violation or chucking a contested 3! I just can't see how people are not seeing any progress! We have a roster full of role players, followers, non D1 players, and JMo. Although I want them to win every time they take the court, this year I knew I had to come to reality and lower my expectations. I see us getting a NIT invite and potentially winning a game or a few games which is "better" than last yearSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners woodenshoemanHoosierfan, pappy1865, thebigweave and 5 others 8 Quote
coonhounds Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 @AssemblyCall: Interesting statistical note, but I don't know exactly what to make of it: Archie Miller's first team at Dayton had the #2 FT% in the country (77.7%). After that, his Dayton teams ranked 103rd, 247th, 208th, 293rd, and 215th. And now his first Indiana team is 323rd. #iubbOf all the gloom and doom posts on this thread i have been able to stay positive but this post of stats scares me cause i have that thing in the back of my mind thinking archie could be part of the shooting problem. Popular Post ap2345 Posted January 31, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 31, 2018 Dear IU cliff jumpers, If you have a basketball IQ at all you should understand this. CAM is doing the best that he can with a very flawed team. Johnson and Newkirk are a walking TO. They might play great for an entire game but when it's on the line like against PU they choke. This team also does not have a B10 level pg on the roster. If you notice the games that CAM has time to game plan for the team competes at a much higher level more times than not. For the people that think we should be as good as OSU because they have a new coach too. I'm sorry to tell you guys but they have a much more talented and higher basketball IQ roster than IU at this point. We can thank FCTC for that. Ok I will end my rant now. A.j. coonhounds Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Question for anyone who has criticized our recruiting under archie at why you are so disappointed? I thought we were happy with the kids we have so far and still hope to add romeo. We really only had one 5 star who we thought we were in with that decided to stay home but we already have a guy coming in for same position. The Baby Bull Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 Hey ! Wake up. We have Freddie Mc Swain playing a lot of minutes. I love Josh but he can’t score.Morgan is the only player we have that could start on a good IU team. Give Archie time. coonhounds and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

Hell Jackson was a 2nd team all American as a Freshman in Juco and then signs with OSU. Four top 80 players with one being a 5 Star. We had 3 top 80 heading into this season. That was what started this convo. How does 3=4 when the 4 had a 5*? Edit: you missed Kam Williams who also was a top 80 recruit (72 composite). 5>3. I honestly thought he'd have a big time commit or two by now. He could still get Romeo although I'm pretty confident he's going to Vandy. I love Archies coaching though. I'm just not sold on him as a recruiter yet. Iugradman 1 Quote

Point is.....equally ratedSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile appIn your eye did Davis play like a top 40 player his last year in high school or did you have concerns that top teams were dropping out of his recruitment? Has Johnson played like a top 50 player in his 4 Years here? Out of all that group of players you posted Bates-Diop was by far the best player to come out of high school. He was a borderline McDonald’s all American and was a 5 star in some instances. Before the season if you were picking teams in a pickup game out of those people you listed who are you taking first?Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app thebigweave 1 Quote

Him and Davis have the same ability to help IU the rest of this season.I see OSU with five rated 79 or better (add Williams). IU with two in the top 77.Additionally, I’m guessing that Jackson was pretty good in Juco. Freddie was only good enough to start in Juco for about 1/2 of his two years there. Maybe not directly, but in so many indirect ways that he's cooked his own goose with Archie. Pure speculation. Rather than "cooked his own goose" my guess is that he just has not shown he is ready in practice. Archie needs another big in these games but does not play him and that has to be because of skill...not because Archie thinks he is going to leave. I do not follow the "Moore should play more sentiment". Why? If Archie does not play him "just because" that is a very poor reflection on Archie. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
