We have only really had one rebuild?

1) "Help is on the way."

2) Sampson drama

3) Crean's losing seasons

4) Present day, with next year looking like we'll be relying on freshmen

Any way you look at it, it's been a series of setbacks over a 20 year period. At some point people will naturally question if it's ever going to be what we want or if this is just what we are now.

In 24 years we have made it past the Sweet Sixteen (ie Elite 8 or better) ONE time.

ONE time in 24 years......

You can call some of the seasons rebuilds or whatever but, when you consider the success we had in the past, the last 24 years have been very mediocre. (ie longer than the entire lifetime of the current students).  I do not like it but can see why the student excitement level might have dimmed from what I experienced  when I went to IU in the "good ol days" of IU hoops.

We need to win at least 6 of our remaining conference games and I think we may get in.
@Illinois, @Rutgers, Minnesota, Illinois , @Iowa, and @Nebraska are all winnable.
If we win one of the tough three coming up after the @Illinois game we can afford to drop one of these and an end of the season loss to OSU. If we don't win any of those three, we'll likely need to win five of those six and also end the season beating OSU.
It's certainly doable, especially since we play a lot of weaker teams on the road and have our big games mostly at home, but obviously nothing should be taken for granted with this squad. Going 11-7 in the conference would be huge and likely garner at least a 5th place finish, but it'll be the quality win argument being held against us, especially if we don't hit 20 wins prior to the BTT. It should be an interesting stretch to wrap up the season. If we get our share of wins, the @Nebraska game may be the biggest game of the year.

I like looking at these situations but understand this team can drop a terrible lose with a blink of an eye.

We need to win the games against the bottom of the league (@Ill, @Rutger, Minny, Ill, and @Iowa). That gets us to 9 conference wins and 16 overall. @Neb won't be a terrible loss but would hurt our resume because we need wins. If we win that and 1 against the top of the conference we have a shot at getting in. A few wins at home against pu, MSU, and O$U changes everything.

If we're on the bubble getting a few quality wins in the BTT could push us over the edge. (Duh)

We're not winning pretty but we're 7-3 in our last 10. If we could go 6-4 we would have a shot at the tourney. 7-3 and I think we're on the right side of the bubble before the BTT.

Without Juwan we’d be down by 20

Think we rely on Juwan much? Haha.  Kid is pretty good man.

He is really becoming one of my favorite Hoosiers. I have been a fan since early 80s. It says a lot how hard that kid plays

I love winning. Morgan was all that and a bag of chips.

Smith was nice for us. McBob had great hustle (what missed FTs?).

The rest.........not impressed.

Smith and Morgan are a very good front court tandem.  I think the experience he is getting as a freshman with Juwan is very valuable.  He is going to be a great 4 year player.

Green and Durham may want to evaluate their future.  Green plays so out of control and you can see that when he has the ball, the rest of the team panics.  Durham looks like an 8th grader trying to play on the JV squad.  How many times last night did he just had the ball over to the other team?

I would hate to see the +/- when Durham and McSwain are on the floor.

McSwain looks totally lost and confused out there.  He has never gotten "it".

Feel you on that. I watched the 1st half in Plainfield with a fraternity brother, then hauled tail home to Terre Haute, only to find a power surge bricked my Xbox One, and other components, so I missed the 2nd half. Sounds like Morgan took this on his shoulders.

Why wouldn't we. It is a long shot for sure but getting a few wins down the stretch here will do it. We may lose to Illinois and damage the chance but if we win that anything is possible
