Post Game Discussion : Duke 91 Indiana 81

Recommended Posts

I’m satisfied with this game. I expected a blow out and loved watching us compete. Gotta knock those free throws down when we get the chance. The only thing I’m worried about with this team at the moment is us getting up for other games. Obviously it’s home against the #1 team so we play hard, but can we do it against the Michigan’s, Iowa’s, Northwestern’s too. Teams were certainly capable of beating.

All in all, great effort against a great team, didn’t go our way at the end there but it will in the future. Keep improving and we’ll be blown away with where we’re at in March.

This for sure. Like Bilas said, “If Indiana can play with this same intensity, the early part of the B1G schedule is gettable.” It is. Very gettable.

Great effort by our guys. They played smart, focused basketball for the majority of the game against the #1 team with a lot of pros on it.

Free throws came back to bite us. You can't fault Davis for his effort but if we're going to win close games he needs to be better at the line.

A few bounces our way and a few more shots go down and we have a huge win.

Dook was the better team tonight but a few serious questions on officiating this year..

- pushoff with the off arm?
- hooking?
- over the back?
- traveling?

I saw many of these just blatantly ignored. Bagley and Carter were using our guys like ladders. How is Freddie supposed to rebound? He got called for boxing out and then in the 2nd half got climbed on.

There was a lot of happy feet on both sides. I really hope the college game doesn't go the way of the NBA.

I liked what I saw. I hope they can play with this toughness and focus on the road. If we get a few good wins that could build the confidence. Remember, defense travels!

Deron Davis. He did a great job tonight during live play. Keeps that post play up and he'll be taking the lunch money from many other conference bigs.

We can obviously work past our lack of size as a team. We went toe to toe with a number 1 team that boasts a pair of ridiculous Twin towers. It looks like the guys are getting the hang of Archie's defense and the effort was there without question. I hope they remember that kind of effort all year long because I really want us to take it to the 7 foot oafs in WL this year.

Saw this too. Al Durham wasn't strong tonight at all. But he wasn't careless either. Maybe CuJo will learn what Archie wants, maybe he won't.

Durham had a respectable game, but didn’t show out. Totally expected especially since he’s a freshman (and supposedly only the 200th(?) best player in his class).

CuJo... good luck at your next school.

Over the back is not a foul. On the back is. There is a diffeence.

Waited in line starting at  9:30 am. That was totally worth it. Should've won tho refs were absolutely egregious in the 2nd half. That was the loudest the Hall has been since Kentucky and possibly louder. I was in the second row and almost went over the rails on that freddie alley oop.

I tell you what that is probably the best game so far that I have seen and the crowd was electric and there were some questionable calls but good effort on both sides. Archie can really get this team on the right path but now have to go into Michigan, Iowa, Louisville, and Notre Dame and with tonight you can build off of this.
