With these recent Archie interviews you can clearly tell he is under a lot of pressure and knows it. You can tell he expected to be better. You can tell he is 100% determined to make IU that kind of program many expect it to be. He is tough. I don't expect the pressure to break him but man, it is a massive amount of pressure.

Come on, Archie, you can do it!

Got news for ya, K -- Coach Knight's been gone for 17 years now. Get over it. And the reason folks detest Allen so much is because he spent the past two seasons running around tripping opposing players. And you refused to do anything about it. Looking at the difference from game 1 to game 7, it's dramatic, especially in protecting the ball. If we can make half that much improvement in the next 7, come January we'll be looking good.

Meanwhile, beating Michigan on the road would be a great step forward.

I'm happy with the progress in how well we played the number 1 team in the country, however I don't think we have the outside shooting to be anything more than a 500 team. I love the hire once I stepped down from the ledge when I realized Donovan was a no go. I like the kids Archie is bringing in next year and I see big things in the future.  Our freethrows are atrocious, but I am hopeful it improves soon.  IU played with great heart and emotion but lets face it, away from assembly hall is going to be a struggle for a team with no outside shot and poor freethrow shooting. I enjoy low turnovers and good defense.  It's how I remember IU basketball as a kid.

I was using earbuds, but was wearing the left one only. For some reason, on my computer, it only plays out of the right. I can hear it now.

Pressure from who? He is a competitor so I'm sure he is putting a ton of pressure on himself but I think the only pressure from fans is to see progress throughout the season

Which we have already seen a plethora of. Archie is our guy and I for one am a HUGE fan of the man.

You can just tell from the interviews. The daily grind, the media, the grocery stores, etc. you can tell he is feeling the pressure of a enormous job.

I personally don't expect much this year and most fans seem to agree but like I say, we have a big fanbase and media following. There isn't really any time for a break.

Yeah, Archie isnt real comfortable with the social. aspects of the job.
Think he's a gym rat who could do without that part of it.
The interview the other day he looked like me after a long night and too much liquid refreshment.
Maybe he could hire a press spokesman.
Tom Crean sure liked it and may have some extra time on his hands.

Archie's not a public speaker, but I'm more concerned with what he's saying in practice, recruiting, and during the games. Whatever it is, its resonating with the players.

I'm starting to know what to expect on game day. Last year I didn't have a clue. Might be a top five team, might not be able to beat the blind school. Against Duke, we scored 81 points on a night that we couldn't hit a three to save our a$$ and were sub par from the free throw line. All the while playing a lot of half court basketball. We did it by being efficient and not throwing the ball all over the gym. If we can continue to play that way, and I think we can, we will be in every game with a chance to win most nights. This is starting to feel like Indiana basketball again and it feels really good.

I think he's good with the media. I just think it's overwhelming for our coaches. All of them. It seems relentless at times. I guess that is a good thing that we are so passionate but it also adds a layer of pressure.

I think CAM does a pretty good job with the media and the social aspects. He isn’t the smoothest talker but I think that’s a positive. He just is who he is and I like that a lot.
