He's not really out of line with what he's saying. Just saying he was curious about TB in the past and if there was anything wrong that would be where it is.

No, but this started in 2015 with AAU and shoe companies. Thomas committed in April of 2015 before AAU. Reckless at best to throw out accusations or assumptions in this situation.

I hate speculating on this stuff, but also remember the time period. Crean was getting booed at Assembly Hall and the team was terrible, then all of the sudden what seemed like unplanned Bryant and Thon Maker show up at the same game. I honestly don't think Crean was dirty, but always did think those visits were odd.

The indictment doesn't publicly name the schools. The schools did not directly pay the players or families. It was Adidas who funneled money to the families to have their kids to sign with certain schools. Those schools did not break any federal laws but did break NCAA laws. All information from these federal investigations will be handed over to the NCAA for further use. The description of one of the schools in the reports mirror the University of Louisville to include coach Kenny Johnson and recruit Brian Bowen.

The main reason I don't think so is mom was wanting him to go to Syracuse hard. Crean recruited him to come in early. We threw out the option graduate in 2 months as opposed to 14. Then Syracuse got in trouble when it looked like a quick recruitment. Mama Bryant was always the one pushing Syracuse. Syracuse spoke directly with her. IU spoke directly with Thomas.

Let me try to address the NCAA's (lack of) involvement:

  1. To effectively investigate corruption the primary evidence that invariably will produce convictions is the recorded conversation between the bribe payer and the bribe recipient.
  2. The NCAA, even if they desperately wanted to, has NO tools to record conversations. None.
  3. THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART: When the FBI develops predication to record, and especially when they introduce an undercover agent, the existence of that technique, and of the investigation is completely closely held; to the case team ONLY.  WHen I say 'closely held', that means that other FBI agents in New York who were not on the case team had no access to case materials. The failure to do so could produce false exculpatories, and could present a significant safety issue for the FBI undercover agents.
