HoosierAloha Posted March 10, 2018 Posted March 10, 2018 Didn't want to add to the mess in the Romeo thread so I'll put this here. I'll say 90% of 5* recruits are getting something for their commitment. Romeo is a 5* so there is a 90% chance there is something going on at some level. This does not mean Romeo or his family are bad people. This doesn't mean it's Romeo or a direct family member that's benefiting from his commitment. Vandy landing a class in the stratosphere of a puke or Dook class is telling. Is there evidence that Vandy is cheating? No. Is there shadiness going on? Absolutely. Tl;dr There's a good chance someone is benefiting from romeos recruitment. Vandy is shady. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Btownclouds and IUsafety 2 Quote
Stuhoo Posted March 10, 2018 Author Posted March 10, 2018 Innocent until proven guilty is the standard used to convict people and send them to prison. “Guilty because I think so” is more than an appropriate standard for message board conclusions! Besides, the Simi Shittu recruitment is pretty strongly odorous circumstantial situation. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Hutch89, ALASKA HOOSIER and WayneFleekHoosier 3 Quote

Class of '66 Old Fart Posted April 10, 2018 Posted April 10, 2018 Dan Wetzel - Yahoo Sports: Federal prosecutors have filed additional counts against ex-Adidas rep Jim Gatto in college basketball fraud scandal. Involves payments to the families of former players at Louisville, Miami, Kansas and N.C. State. Subsequent info: Silvia Da Sousa may be involved. Also Billy Preston and Marcus Garrett And to clarify, it's not additional stuff against L'ville and Miami just a rehash but for Kansas and NC St. it's all new. pumpfake, thebigweave and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote

Gahoosierfan Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 Don't count on Mark Emmert and the NCAA to hand out any real punishment to these teams. Remember they just let UNC off completely after they admitted to committing academic fraud for 18 years to keep players eligible. Emmert needs to be fired. 323SGrant, Tom White, IUsafety and 3 others 6 Quote

I've said these FBI related shenanigans will be a huge benchmark for the NCAA. Considering that some people involved may get prison terms, they're (NCAA) going to be under the microscope. If Louisville, or any other school found similarly guilty isn't given a strong punishment, it's all over for them as an organization. Then again, like you say, they let the UNC violations disappear into thin air, so I'm not putting money on it. Iugradman 1 Quote

What a sham and house of cards the NCAA continues to be proven to be. Totally inept. Emmert still there just proves there is absolutely no accountability. You figure he would resign in embarrassment. Then let they’ll let them pick a few pre-season cupcake games to sit the coach. Finally, if the offense they committed was really egregious, the NCAA will let them choose the year they’d like to be tourney ineligible. (ie. one they had no chance to make it or do well anyway). Oh yeah, and another blue ribbon commission to tell everyone that it’s all good now, nothing to worry about in major college sports. pumpfake 1 Quote
