The reason Duke and Kentucky skate FOR NOW is because they are professionals. The coaches won't be caught on freaking wiretaps and stupid stuff like that.

You can tell by the way Seth Greenberg and Jay Bilas talk, they all get paid but if the Coaches can't be connected to the dealings the blame will fall on the agents and not the school.

Why would Dawkins contact Chuck Martin and Dwayne Stephens from MSU? Did he have a personal relationship with them, or previous dealings? If these two were seen as approachable by runners and agents, then it may be worthwhile to see who these two landed in previous years. My point is, I just don’t think a runner or agent is emailing every P5 asst coach looking to trade without some knowledge or idea that said asst coaches are approachable and willing to listen. There is some level of trust to be able to have these convos.

This is me looking at it as a former agent myself...

Christian Dawkins ran Dorians Pride an AAU out of Saginaw. Bowen was on the program. Kuzma was on that program. If you don’t know how the head of an AAU program had connections to Assistant Coaches I don’t know what to say. He was at a different agency and was fired for working with ASM. ASM wanted him for his connections. End of story with Christian Dawkins. Dude did a lot of damage in a short period of time and wasn’t quiet about it.

Convenient. And yet after two schools and being somewhat involved with this that crap**** will come out smelling like roses. The world of college basketball/football is so corrupt the IOC gave it a golf clap.

This is why Bob Knight said he didn't respect John Wooden as a person.  He allowed his guy to go do these things to get the best players.  While Bob did it with top notch coaching! Why I'll always stand by Bob as best BASKETBALL coach ever.  The guy cared about education and the game.....and WON doing it that way.

That's why I always loved when we beat some of the shady programs (UK) with Knight coaching. He would make sure it was good vs evil. Now... Coach Knight had a lot of his own demons, but I always loved that he did it the 'right way' when it came to recruiting. Or at least, I think he did. And he would not stand for kids not going to class or doing well in school.

I’m just amazed at how quick and diligent that Duke and UK was in investigating the eligibility and clearing Wendell Carter and Kevin Knox. Kudos to their compliance staffs.....

This all just makes me sick. We all knew the cheating was bad but I did not think it was this bad. The more of this that breaks the more I start wondering if basically EVERY major college program is cheating to some extent? It’s a gotta keep up with the competition attitude. If they are going to pay 5 Stars where does it end? My guess is many 4 stars and some 3 stars are on the take as well. What a message this sends to our kids. The whole system needs an overhaul but how do you keep it from happening or how do you punish it when everybody is doing it? As an old school —law and order—guy —I say you do it by making an example of some of the big name coaches and programs. The NCAA pounds it’s chest and hammers schools for things like charity calendars, phone calls, and bumper stickers, but turns a blind eye to academic fraud and all this cheating. Disgraceful. The top schools get their hands slapped and smaller schools get hammered. Some are untouchables. I am now concerned that IU will be drug into this as well and it sickens me. But—if we did it —we deserve to get punished too. It used to be an honor to go to a blue blood basketball school on a full ride and play ball. Now you have to pay them six figures and they don’t have to get an education either. Wow. Can’t believe what college basketball has become. It is no longer for the love of the game—it’s a business. So IF there is a bidding war going on for Romeo like some are suggesting-let him go to Vandy. I’d rather play with Indiana kids who want to be at IU. I want to win as bad as anyone but I do not believe in winning at ALL COSTS. Even if it means we will have to do it the old fashioned way with 3 and 4 Star players who are honest and hard working and we will only challenge for championships every 4 years—fine. That was the Knight model and it was the most enjoyable era of Indiana basketball. We knew back then it was us against the cheaters like UK and Michigan and we loved the underdog role and kicking their butts. Archie has implemented Defense like we had in the Knight era—now I hope he implements that blue collar, non-cheating, chip on the shoulder, underdog program like we had in the Knight era as well. I know this post may not be popular with some fans who want to win now —whatever it takes. But- I don’t want IU to be just another UK. There is a better and more satisfying way to win. Rant over—Rebel out.

Yes Rebel, pretty much any power conference that wins games or is trying to win games is cheating.

Look at Texas AM recruiting recently. Look at Oregon. Look at Kansas State with Beasley. LSU. South Carolina. Oklahoma State. Maryland. Etc, etc.

It's not just the blue bloods. They just have the biggest budgets. And agents want their investment to be in the biggest of limelights. Hence UK, Duke, Kansas, North Carolina, etc.

That one article specifically states players were getting/asking for 5k for visits/official visits.

Lol. I could totally see us/Crean doing this.

Hopefully we weren't, so embarrassing.

Malachi Richardson, Isaiah Whitehead, Thomas Bryant, Goodluck Okonoboh, Thon Maker, Mario Kegler, Billy Preston, Miles Bridges are a few that come to mind.

I understand, you have evidence to back your opinion too However, is it possible you thought/said that same things about Pitino & Louisville until recently? I'm not totally convinced  the NCAA has seen the light and we're in a whole new paradigm.....but they did just deny an appeal and vacate a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP from a HoF coach. 
I guess my point is the NCAA isn't running this show right now, the FBI is and Sean Miller, Izzo, Cal, K, Roy, Self and all the rest of those cheating bastards are crapping their pants. Will our dreams come true with a fairy tale ending (for me that is Calipari in an orange jumpsuit)? Probably not, but this is too big to just  get swept away as business as usual.  

It was like Pitinos is 4th strike and he had already survived the stripper sandal. Plus Louisville is a step below Duke and Kentucky on the to big to fail list. Nothing will happen to Duke, Kansas or Kentucky and you can BANK IT. But make no mistake the not to big to fail schools will get hit hard
