Nope. Neither are U.K., PU, Or Illinois fans. I went to RR and there hasn't been one negative thing said. Most just say "great hire" or a swing for the fence hire that makes sense. Lol and, "he isn't weird enough to dislike but now they have to."

The only people that seem to not think it's a good hire is about half the IU fan base that thought Donovan was going to be the coach and anyone else wasn't good enough.

Out of who was linked to IU, yes Archie was the best. Jay Wright wasn't happening. Sean Miller wasn't happening. Mack, Marshall and Collins don't have the potential that Archie has. Bennett is the only one I would consider on or near his level but he wasn't leaving either

I've seen your posts and I don't really have anything bad to say about them. You said you'd support him but you weren't excited. I'm 100% cool with that I just have issue with the fans that are throwing a fit saying IU is done blah blah blah and aren't willing to give the guy more than 5 minutes.

I'll support coach Miller but this confirms our place among "everyone else" in college basketball. Blue bloods don't make hires like this. Kentucky, duke, UNC would not take a chance on someone like this. I hope he succeeds and succeeds at a high level but this is a bit deflating

The only one that wouldn't be taking a risk on was Donovan. Everyone else has risk involved. As for young guys, it's important to get feedback from their peers. Not sure any young coach is a well regarded as Archie Miller. He's proven his chops as a recruiter and he's CONSISTENTLY done more with less, while at Dayton. He has made 4 straight NCAA tournaments (Dayton has only made 1 in the previous 9 seasons), won 2 straight A-10 regular season championships, 2017 A-10 Coach of the Year, made an Elite 8........ this is a homerun hire. Crean's biggest knock was consistency... This won't be an issue with Archie. Both my head and my gut tells me that Archie Miller is going to restore us to elite status within the next 2 seasons. Give this young man a chance!

I like this hire. Let's face it: Donovan and Stevens weren't happening. Wanted no part of Alford. I thought Bennett and Miller were the next best "candidates," and I don't think Bennett was gonna happen, either. I think he's still pissed IU fired his sister all those years ago. Welcome aboard, Arch.

Why are so many people being so negative right now? Archie hasn't even coached a single minute at IU yet! And let's be honest, even if we would have hired Donovan a lot of people (not most of you in this board) would have been upset that we didn't hire Alford. Were fans excited when IU hired Knight after having a mediocre season at Army? My guess is probably not and we all know how that turned out. Anyways, I wish nothing but the best to Archie and hopefully he can lead us back to greatness!

You might be right- which makes me sad too. The best coach IU can get is a 30 something from a mid-major.....Nothing to do now but hope for the best and I'm glad many are excited, but I am extremely under-whelmed.
