Popular Post Hovadipo Posted April 20, 2017 Popular Post Posted April 20, 2017 As has been mentioned, I'd put some decent money on Archie knowing more about the situation than any of us combined. Speculating is fun, but it seems irresponsible to be jumping to conclusions (either way) before this shakes out. Archie knows what's going on. IUsafety Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 Not sure what to make of this, but I saw this on a social media site. Anybody else seeing this anywhere.Hearing that Thomas Bryant is signing with an agent in LA this weekend. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners Quote
HoosierAloha Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 And to think Crean had the three recruits and was still recruiting Tucker and Smith. The situations are different. If Archie makes it an annual event then I'll begin to compare. JaybobHoosier, Tom White and Class of '66 Old Fart 3 Quote
recker222000 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 LOL Yea I knew what he meant... just couldn't resist giving him a little ribbing... (Just messing with you Recker no ill will ) I actually assumed he meant nobody would give it up and play as a Walk-On or just walk away from the game now that they have a degree. Yep I just don't see it though. I think it's beyond rare somebody gives up a grant to walk on.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Str8Hoosiers 1 Quote

ap2345 Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I'm guessing CAM will wait and see what is decided upon by JBJ, TB, and ROJO. If they decide to return then CAM will have a sit down with the 2 guys he feels will be the most likely to see little playing time and he will pull their scholarship. If we want to be a contender things like this happen from time to time. Just ask K at Duke. Also I'm sure CAM has been using these workouts to evaluate who will play and who will not. Just my 2 cents. Quote

I don't understand how Crean got crucified for it but Miller gets praised for it Really, you don't? Crean did it every year (except for the year he should have called a press conference announcing a second rebuild). From what I've heard and read, Miller wanted to do as much as he could for continuity. Obviously, he knew about the oversign situation, and I still think he knows things we don't. What I'm saying is this is his first month on the job. Before we make sweeping comparisons of him and Crean, let's give him a season or two. Trish Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 No idea but I can't see him leaving campus during Little 5 weekend, especially if he's leaving college. Exactly. Not a single player is thinking about the NBA during little 5. Hell, little 5 is doing us a favor is trying to get them back. Maybe we need to hire pitino's girls to convince the boys to stay with little 5 being right now ?[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app JaybobHoosier, ALASKA HOOSIER and Hoosierfan2017 3 Quote

Just a huge IU fan like us that follows them very closely. He acted like it was a done deal and thanked the big guy for his time here. Stromboli Posted April 20, 2017 Posted April 20, 2017 I could definitely see this happening. Bryant stood up for Crean more than anyone else. "He's my guy." Obviously that iconic picture after the loss to UNC last year. So maybe Crean's firing hit him more than others. He also came in with a pedigree and expectations that he would not be here long. He was almost gone last year, and this year was supposed to be his victory tour before getting the big contract to play professionally. Instead the team sucked, his unheralded classmate OG stole all the draft thunder (with somewhat pedestrian numbers), the fanbase turned on Thomas the way we're prone to do, and the season was flat awful. It makes sense that Thomas wants to leave. Next year, without him, is going to be rough. DD is a very talented player, but he's on borrowed time each game until he's in foul trouble. Clifton isn't ready (IMO), and doesn't want to be in the paint anyway. So it's going to be putting Juwan and Collin on the opposing team's big, and likely some brand of small ball on offense. Not the end of the world, but we are going to have a lot of points to make up, especially if JBJ goes too. Hoosier Roots, ALASKA HOOSIER and IUsafety 3 Quote

You would have to think (hope, pray) that a year of experience and some coaching will help with the fouling problem. I'm with you though - I thought TB would be the first to leave when Crean was fired. Str8Hoosiers and Stromboli 2 Quote

Archie knows what's going on with scholarships just as Crean did. That's why Archie put himself in this position.I'm not sure why there's a double standard for many on here (not you specifically hova, I just quoted your post because I agree)For the record, I never had any problem with Crean's oversignings and I have no problem with Archie doing it either. He knows what he's doing. I'm just annoyed by hypocrisy of many posts here. reconmkd 1 Quote

Archie has only been on the job for a month (side note, it feels like he's been here much longer than that). If Archie does it every year like Crean did then I'll have a problem with it. I just need more evidence at this point. pumpfake, ThompsonHoosier, reconmkd and 1 other 4 Quote
