No but there was chatter earlier he could leave as a grad transfer. Starting to think jbj is gone no matter what. Bryant is thw wild card.

Rojo would have to do a lot of work this summer to be a grad transfer. When I say a lot of work, it means more summer classes than anyone I've ever seen take in one summer.

I would guess that many of the upper tier players want to hear teams say, "if you're available at this spot, we are likely to take you" kind of thing, and others are just looking for what team will sign them to a FA contract, and others merely want to know what they have to do to make it.

Where I think it may actually be a disservice to those players is if a player goes through the evaluation one year and is told you need to improve on X, Y and Z, and you don't. Sometimes you just are what you are, and now a team knows that instead of thinking they can coach you up, which may make you less attractive.

I don't know if it's much of a concern, but I wonder how often the evaluation suggestions may conflict with the role the college coach envisions.  If a player is told to improve his dribble or drive to the basket and then tries to "showcase" his abilities to the detriment of the team.

Like I said, maybe it doesn't happen like that, but I think we probably saw something like that with Vonleh.  I would think that some of the kids that start their college careers with one eye already focused on the next level couldn't help but look at it as a way to show off their individual game.

Will ROJO get drafted if he stays in the draft?  Not a chance in hell.

If he doesn't return to college, could he make a living somewhere in the world playing basketball?  Absolutely.

People saying he can't play pro ball somewhere are crazy.  He could easily make more money playing somewhere overseas than 90% of the people on this page earn, myself included.

If he is done with college and wants to go make six figures playing basketball, more power to him.

I don't disagree with you, if he's really ready to go, then go. I would say that the overseas option isn't going to change by staying next year. So why not return, get your degree and see how the new staff/team works out?

Don't get me wrong, that is definitely what I want him to do!

The biggest thing is that if you play 4 years in Bloomington, you'll always have a job. Scott May is working in Bloomington to this day. Companies will jump to hire IUBB alumnus. You can't retire on an overseas salary.

If you play professional basketball you will always be able to get a job teaching those skills.  And if you are a star in those leagues you can very easily retire.

If he was never officially been released from his LOI, isn't it an NCAA violation for other schools to attempt to recruit him?

Al Durham said that more than 20 schools tried to recruit him after the #iubb coaching change, including SEC & ACC schools.

Only if they contacted him directly.
Contacting his hs or AAU coach is within the letter of the rule.

"I want to show (Indiana fans) they’re not just getting any regular point guard. They’re getting somebody who is going to fight for Indiana and is going to go hard for Indiana across his chest."
That's exactly what kind of player I want to see rocking the candy stripes. I didn't know he was a point guard though, I thought he was a 2.

He's really a combo guard, but he says he wants to be a PG. I hope he develops, because we could really use a PG.

I think in high school, when you're the best player on your team, the ball is generally just in your hands.  He definitely falls into the "combo guard" bucket that Crean filled up.  That said, I watched a bunch of his videos for this purpose.  He does have a nasty bounce pass he uses in transition, and his ball handling is excellent.  When you watch him, he definitely works to draw the defense with him to get a man open.  And he's fast and long enough with his drives to keep the defense honest.

Ahh okay, yeah I figured he was in the combo guard mold. That's great if he's wanting to be a point guard though. He has nice size and we desperately need someone to be able to step into that role.

Might be a year or two away physically, but the long term potential for Clifton Moore is pretty considerable. Long, fluid and skilled.

@ebosshoops

Clifton Moore with 11 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals & a block in 21 minutes #iubb
